I've acquired a rusty old bill hook which turns out to be a spear and Jackson. I know theyre not meant to be that great but as it seems pretty old I wondered if the steel was better back then? It's marked Spear/Jackson and seems to have a number 9 stamped on the blade too. Just wondering if...

May as well buy new then. Is there much difference in quality, steels etc?

I'm looking for a cast iron frying pan and a Dutch oven. I've done a bit of reading re seasoning etc. Would I be better buying new or a used one?

Both the roof vents are in, sealed with plenty of sealant all round as well as on the screws. Pretty easy to fit once we'd figured it out! I'm away in Scotland for a week but when I'm back I'm hoping to get the roof battens finished which is a pain because I have nothing to clamp to so I'm...

I may buy another no.8 and do it myself as a practice. Although cheap, I've had my opinel quite a while and don't want to ruin it. Where's a good place to pick up Snakewood etc?

I've got an Opinel no.8 that I use everyday and fancied getting it rehandled to make it a bit more fancy. I saw this and absolutely love it! Is there anybody here that could do this for a fee? I like the fact it still keeps some of the original handle too...
