    Coping with the heat.

You can get tiny adapters for anything to anything. My battery pack has four leads but I bust the iPhone one. No problem, a little C female to lightening (iPhone) swings from my phone lanyard. Glad one phone problem is coming right if only slowly.

    Saurons Spork

These are the ones that I use - at home and in camp. I am an inveterate spork user. They are two cm longer than the lightmyfire plastic spork but the same design but stainless steel. Of those that I’ve tried these are what I’d recommend. (I’ve commented before on the cost benefit of SS...

    Sharpening steels

Totally agree. It is amazing what you can achieve and survive using seventy plus years of ignorance. Perfection can wait. Adequacy Rules.

    Hi Welcome.

    Sharpening steels

Sorry mates but that is nonsense. Some steels do remove metal. They act like very fine files. If you’ve ever seen a well used butcher’s knife you will see that exactly that kind of sharpening has worn away as much as a third of the blade. 2. Don’t you think that it’s a bit arrogant to suggest...

    Coping with the heat.

I think that you will find Tesco helpful with your new phone. Stick to a budget of £20 - £30 and you’ll get the pay-go dumb phone that you are looking for. That range can include a camera but it’s very basic. I don’t thing that they can help with your current screen problem. I suspect that...

    Coping with the heat.

I hope your phone recovers. Long ago my friend’s phone turned magenta. (pink and blue) Something had knocked out the green pixels. No idea what it was. Her’s didn’t recover. Sounds as if yours has lost the red pixels. That trip to Tesco can’t come soon enough. Good luck.

    Forthcoming pebble launching device ban?

Yeah - but I was asking for a response emoticon - like etc …… so I can put my tongue out at people. I tend to lack couth. Edited to add: I forget that BcUK is an international forum! Uncouth = Bad mannered. As far as I know, no one ever uses the word couth. I was just being silly...

    Forthcoming pebble launching device ban?

Well first It’s a proposal. I think he’s just testing the water. I can’t find the science. Anyway, if you’ve got it you keep it. They could only ever ban new sales. When they banned sales of 2KW vacuum cleaners just as we needed a new one, we bought one from Australia. (New thread?)

What wildlife did you spot today?

Not me. This was spotted by Sue Dakteris in Brittany. Some of you know Sue. She is usually found at the Moots and may well have fed you, she has most of us. (With permission.)

    *The* Gift-It-On Thread

Right! On offer - Choice from Three Separate Gifts. The first bid received for any particular gift cancels the other two. (The rejects may well appear later in this thread or be available as a cheap swap.) A cutlery drainer stick stove. Very stable. The M12 feet weigh much the same as...

    Spring anyone ?

First mow of the year! No, of COURSE I didn’t do all of it. The rest can wait until September. I still need to go over it with the mower but that is easy.

    Geocache - Geocaching

W3W gives you loads of opportunities for puzzles and clues. Unfortunately W3W have taken some of the fun out of the free app and put it behind a paywall. The basics are still free though.

    Oak dice

I love the three-a-side die. It means that you always score at least half way. As a glass half full kind of guy that’s good enough for me.

    Forthcoming pebble launching device ban?

Can someone point me to a statement of intent from anyone who might be or could be, involved in the imposition of a catapult ban? I’d be interested even if it was a law maker just musing on the subject. ANY official statement of distaste/opinion? I suppose if we all shout and protest loud...
