My son uses a NGT Onamazu, 12" when collapsed, comes with reel too. Tried it myself, albeit with less success than him, and it does the job. Not as supple as my Exage but it was reduced to a fiver at Go Outdoors so absolute bargain.

I think you hit the nail on the head there. Trousers are not that important. Bushcraft is just part of everyday life so whatever works for you day to day will work fine for bushcraft, no need for specialist uniform.
Unless your day to day is swimwear in which case be careful!
Just a regular stropping keeps mine keen.
I carry a Fallkniven DCsomethingorother single sided sharpener for when I mess up the edge completely but rarely have to use it. It's only a couple mm thick and weighs next to nothing so it lives permanently in my wallet.

Enzo/Brisa Necker 70 does everything camp related for me. I got the blade blank and left it that way, carried in a poly pipe sheath.
They make slightly larger models too. Great price to performance ratio.
I didn't know such a thing existed. Sounds like something some of my kids' buddies could benefit from. Most seem to think the great outdoors is Alton Towers!
