Yes, unfortunately it is very Ticky.

    Ticks

That is something I am very grateful for Dale! Considering what I did for a living, and what I do for hobbies, I have only ever taken two off myself, when work colleagues would get them very regularly, one of my former colleagues took 14 ticks off himself, when I had none, same day, same job...

    What did you buy today?

I had, not owned, two LR Defender 90s, from early 1990s to 2003, for my work on Dartmoor, neither were new to me, but I had not one bit of trouble with either of them. ….Amazing I know!

    Ticks

Never, ever, use heat to remove a tick, alway use a recognised Tick removal tool. Using ANYTHING, like heat, lighter fuel, valseline etc may cause the Tick to regurgitate and if it is an infected Tick…….Bingo! I do realise you have removed the Tick, but just in case anyone reads it the wrong way.

    Your picture of the day...

On the moor again yesterday, similar distance to Monday, but very different part of Dartmoor. Easy to recognise for those who know.

    Your picture of the day...

Out on the Moor today, a lovely 8.2 mile bimble in the wind, with a bit of rain, but not to bad though. Proper job!

    The walk home from "town"

I live in Debm, in the Dartmoor NP man and boy, but I love Exmoor, it is a lot quieter than Dartmoor, although if you know where, you can always get away and not see another human being. I would hate to live in a town as well! In fact…….I can’t stand them!

    Wild camping dartmoor threatened again

No cause has been confirmed, but it is believed the fire was as a result of human activity, made worse by the moor being very dry after a prolonged dry period, and the wind pushing the fire. The DNPA is working with the fire service the Fire Service to determine the cause, but I was around...

    Wild camping dartmoor threatened again

Absolute nonsense, nowhere near. About as accurate as claiming there is hardly any rubbish left in our national parks. At least make an attempt to get simple facts right.

    Wild camping dartmoor threatened again

Nigel, I care even less what you think, I know exactly what I have seen and had to clear up. So your opinion means nothing to me whatsoever. I regularly still meet up those at the sharp end, and they despair at what they have to deal with. Your world may be different to real world...

    Wild camping dartmoor threatened again

Bit of warped thinking, your the one pushing really mixed messages. We will obviously never agree, total polar opposites, so hardly worth corresponding……Don’t you think? Must go, have a Roe Buck to butcher, real organic food.

    Wild camping dartmoor threatened again

Not where the great British public have access it isn’t, it is far from litter free. The likes of you and I, and of course the good people on this type of forum, have a love and appreciation of our countryside, it has been everything to me, including a career trying to protect it. But sadly...

    Wild camping dartmoor threatened again

Simply Google “Camping rubbish left on Dartmoor” look at the images. I live in the real world, not some fantasy where everyone is lovely and Unicorns and fairies mix happily. The work I did on Dartmoor brought me into direct contact with the irresponsible, and there are many. The good people...

    Wild camping dartmoor threatened again

No, it doesn’t work very well in Scotland at all, initially it did, but not now. Scotland has lots of land and few people, in comparison England has less land but a much higher population. The Right to Roam for England would be absolute carnage!

    Wild camping dartmoor threatened again

Nigel, it was never a threat to ban wild camping per se, the major landowner the Duchy of Cornwall would never seek to ban wild camping, or change the areas agreed with the DNPA, it is woven into the fabric of Dartmoor, and I am so pleased the ruling went the way it did, but yes, things could...
