A very short gopro of canoeing the Forth, from Stirling up river. Filmed a few weeks back.
The guidebook says 'a glorified ditch', so clearly the author has not paddled it.

This is the best article you will find for Tarpology. 'tracking lines' are 15m lines used canoeing.

The Barry Davies one I read is for Arctic and Northern climes. It's got many pics of the techniques and although black and white it's clear how to use or do the techniques. It has small print so packed with info.
Just finished reading this, got it for 1p. Second hand. Well worth a read with some interesting techniques and well illustrated.

Plenty mixed woodland areas up here. You just have to know where they are. Accessing by canoe or kayak helps.
There are many coastal areas worth visiting too. And apart from Loch lomond East side, responsible access and camping is legal. You can't camp for more than 72hrs in one spot though.
If you are using a fire then use a Mound to avoid leaving a trace. It's not right or wrong just a fact. Leave as you find is another LNT principle. It's not right or wrong just being empathetic for the next person to use the area.
Good article but we need to promote the use of 'mound fires' so people get the benefit of fires without leaving a trace. I learnt this whilst becoming a Leave No Trace Trainer last year. A quick read of https://lnt.org/learn/principle-5
I can remove 700c 23 and Mtb 26" tyres by hand unless hands are cold. A slight bit of alcohol hand gel on the rim before hand will help. Don't lube otherwise your rim brakes won't work.
Need to try pine cones. Once it's packed and nested there is enough room for two cup fulls of fuel. Handy being a cat/Tech teacher as plenty fuel from scrap.
