Happy New Year all.
Just wondering if any of you got any fun bushcrafty stuff for Christmas?
I thought mine was going to be all dull this year & then the family gave me a voucher for one of Barn’s spoon carving courses in February.
Result!
Sorry I’m a bit late to the party!
Got into some nice rum (Foursquare Select Cask 2009) & not entirely sure which day we are on now!
Thanks to whoever sent me this gorgeous snowman!
Plus one for Larousse Gastronomique. Also for Food Lab. Michel Roux Sr’s book Pastry is a classic for patisserie also.
That should at least get you started. Then probably Modernist Cuisine to catch up on the molecular stuff. Great British Chefs online is also good for keeping up to date.

I have a friend who does this regularly for people.
Her business is called Nisha Halo.
Her work is lovely. Really nice person too.
One of the few knives I really do regret selling is the one I bought from Rob years ago.
The more knives I own the more I realise how good that one was!
I’m a confirmed ground dweller so I have absolutely no use for this kind birthday gift. Aiming to pass it on, at a substantial saving, to someone else who will make use of it.
Eagles Nest Outfitters Travel Nest & Straps Combo which “includes everything you need to hang out & relax on the go” inc...
