    yes, 40 years ago EDC type stuff wasnt mentioned... but then back then you didnt have any decent tiny flashlights, a SAK was about it edc type items, pocket prybars, decent tiny torches, have made having a few usefull everyday items easier to carry...

    Hoestly that sounds a good selection to me...first aid kit and repair items are missing, but then when i made a kit when I was 10 i remember it being heavy on fishing wire and snares, and a later kit was heavy on ciiking, but only a tiny blanket for shelter, naivity of youth, lol.... Lots...

    thats absolutely no point buying new natural fibre to replace plastic fibre, unless its replacing dead/worn out, i always buy 2nd hand, or make from otehr materials, except underwear, but if you are buying new, thats the thing

    i slept on a debis bed and calico tarp shelter doing viking reenactment, by the time i woke uop everybody had stolen my bedding to use as kindling for their nreakfast fireplaces.... a lot of people used sheepskins and wolfskins as mattresses...
