There was a lad that came with us last year (Pheastos of this parish), he used a bridge camera, nothing to extravagant but a bit better than your average point and click, he got some great images but had to devote a fair bit of time to looking after the kit.
Not sure if that answers your...
I'm after a Bob Dustrude 24inch Folding Bucksaw, but i'm really struggling to find one.
Does anyone know of anywhere that stocks them in the uk, OR anywhere else that is willing to ship to the uk?
Thanks
Dave
Gary you are a font of knowledge.
Thanks i'll take a look at the article on Ice raven, having seen some of the shots you've taken though i wouldn't call your experience limited by any stretch lol. My camera isnt the best you can buy by any means, but its the best I could buy at the time ha ha...
you could do a couple of different ways, one of the easiest would be to sew 2 back panels on and then run the belt between them. To accomplish this the 2nd back panel would need to have a little give so a lighter leather could be used. When i did my last on i sewed a pice of leather a bit like...
Glad to see the old faces again lol, hoping to make it even bigger this year. It is a little like trying to herd cats at times but i genuinely love organising this thread and seeing what people come up with. It's also nice that anyone can have a crack and that people are so generous with their...
Hi Guys
Just thought i'd see who was interested in doing this again this year? There were some really good gifts last year, I started things a bit late last year though due to some other commitments, so thought i'd give everyone a bit longer to prepare this year.
There have been a few...
Hi Guys
Last year i went to Kittila Finland, with a few guys from the forum. I cold camped, while the other guys used hot tents. I enjoyed the cold camping but obviously found it difficult to keep sensitive gear warm enough that it was still usable. For example i took a cheapy compact (£80 or...
As title really, looking for the 24 inch dustrude saw for a trip to the arctic early next year.
If anyone has one they are after moving on let me know.

you need to be realistic with pricing, for example there are good quality wallets from people like Secrid, that are going for £20-£30. I understand that they aren't hand made and that some folk are willing to pay a premium for that, BUT if you are looking at making it a business you need to...
I'd avoid neatsfoot oil, as it plays merry hell with stitching if its a natural material. You should look at Carnuba wax imo, this is a cream that will nourish the leather as well as give it a slightly water resistant finish. Apply a good dose and leave to soak and then buff off excess.
Dave
About £10-£15 depending on the leather quality and the workmanship put into each one.
Its more about your investment, in time and money and what return you expect on that investment.
Dave
Ive got a nice pukko style knife thought the blade is a bit longer than standard. I'd be interested in swapping for the folding bucksaw?
Let me know if you're interested and i'll post pics.
Thanks
Dave
