    Energy Bar Recommendations.

I bought some of these in the past as emergency rations, again though quite high in sugar and fat as is typical, at least the fat is sustainable palm oil rather than seed oil. Pretty sure I bought in bulk online at much lower price though.

    Home first aid kit

Thank you, it's been on my shpping list for a while. I will do the research in terms of how much to take and timings, and write some instructions to store alongside it....

Maps, of all kinds ..... :D

Absolutely, those that want to do harm will always find ways of getting the information regardless. I just wonder if sometimes it is made too easy, but how else to allow simple access to those who maintain it all. It would be fascinating to be able to have a browse once it's done though! But...

Maps, of all kinds ..... :D

Oh goody, saboteurs will have locations of critical infrastructure instantly rather than having to wait 6 days.

    Home first aid kit

Do you have a good source for something suitable? I keep iodine solution at home, but prefer to use myrrh oil on any small wounds which need cleaning. I've met others who do the same so I'm not the only nutter!

Emergency light for first aid kit

Same as you, I have a small torch on me at all times, I grab a headtorch if I'm going out, there is at least one in the car... it just seems that having one in the first aid box would be sensible, it might save precious seconds. It can also be a torch which is ideally suited to first aid use...

    Is Solar Tracking Worthwhile?

Simplicity and ruggedness are important on the canals if the boat moves anywhere at all- most boats don't even bother with pivot mounted panels, and just keep them flat on the roof. Overhanging tree branches, bridges etc.... And with large domestic sized panels so cheap these days (410W new for...

    Oak coppice

    Sticky Willy Juice.

I was told by a herbalist the acidity of lemon juice helps extracts beneficials from the goosegrass... but there is likely no official research on the subject. Ginger (along with black pepper) is a very common addition to herbal medicine as an 'uptake blend', to help the body absorb the main...

    Sticky Willy Juice.

I do a goosegrass infusionf every spring for a few weeks to help the liver and kidneys. Some animals have been noted to eat large quantities of it to detox. I haven't watched the video but some sliced lemon is a nice addition.

Trangia 25 series isn't big enough, anything similar that's bigger?

Esbit do a larger stormcooker with 1.8 and 2.3L pots- no hole for a gas burner, but I'm sure it could be converted. Quite an impressive bit of kit, with heat exchanger pots...

    Innovation into knife desgin

Aha! A human using AI to make a legitimate post! Half a mark to me ;) Apologies and welcome. I'll admit I'm not the best person to ask about fixed blade knives, I've played and worked (conservation/farming/various traditional crafts) outdoors all my life and never felt the need for anything...

    Innovation into knife desgin

It must be learning! Eeek! Seriously though sorry, it's not really my place, but some things just don't feel right. Possibly giving an explanatory title, the structure, the phrasing, the mix of carefully packaged facts with explainations and questions. Anyway I hope to be proved wrong, and...

    Innovation into knife desgin

The internet is getting a bit worrying- I genuinely can't work out if the original post is human or AI generated. My apologies if it's the former.

    Wild camping dartmoor threatened again

No, if you read back through the posts you have made, you'll note you have complained about the litter caused by wild camping on Dartmoor, and used this as a reason why similar access rights shouldn't be expanded across England. Despite this you have stated you would 'fight' to defend the...

    Wild camping dartmoor threatened again

Really mixed messages here. And yet due to irresponsible members of the public littering on Dartmoor, you think that similar access rights across England would be 'utterly rediculous', and those pushing for them are 'eaten with envy and jealousy', yet you would 'fight' to preserve this very...

    Wild camping dartmoor threatened again

Isn't that an example of problems arising and being dealt with, surely a productive and positive process? I can't deny that there needs to be greater education or even legislation to promote responsible behavior though, but that stands in England now, whether access is opened up or not...

    Wild camping dartmoor threatened again

And yet it works very well in Scotland and Scandinavia- do you have any direct experience of land access in these countries? And having described public land use and access rights in Scotland and Scandinavia as 'purely ridiculous' three times now, can you go into any more detail as to what you...

    Ra-Ra-Rasputin.. Future Predictions.

Interesting point this. When I was a child I was frequently told by adults that the world was a better place when they were young and everything nowadays had gone downhill. It was always in a tutting, scolding manner, as if it were my fault. Erm I wasn't the one who allowed it to happen or...

    Wild camping dartmoor threatened again

Oooh Arr, I'm zummat of a stranger to rooral loife. Here I am harvesting organic beans undersown with a lovely old variety of longstraw wheat, having stripped and reassembled a large part of the combine to replace a broken drum shaft and rebalance the impeller. Real responsible land use, grown...
