    Self heating ration packs

They seem a reasonable price for what they are (surely they can't not be the same as Wayfarer/ration pack meals - the varieties are exactly the same) - £5 each delivered (if you order 6). The going rate for normal Wayfarer meals is around £4, all the web links I've just found for Wayfarer Hot...

    Anyone seen Avatar movie?

I really enjoyed it. As others have said, not the strongest story though. I still reckon it's a must see on the big screen and in 3D. Did find the specs slightly distracting but that's because I had to wear them over my own :22::22:

Drew Dunns crazy coffee break tour of a country park

Drew You could try resizing your original photos before uploading to photobucket with something like Irfanview. It's very good for doing batch resize/resample etc - If I can use it anyone can. The pics I took and recently posted here were originally 3072 x 2304 pixels and about 1.5MB each...

Your New Years Eve sounds wonderful. Take it you've been hit by the snow now. Just watching the news, some poor chap living on the edge of Saddleworth Moor had to be taken to hospital by air ambulance as the roads were impassable. On a lighter note, my mum and dad's neighbour asked them if...

Used 4 times. Earlier model, burgundy colour on top face, light grey on bottom. Has always been stored unfolded, comes with stuff sack (although most people folder these little mats in half to roll and it doesn't fit in the sack that way ) £11 posted

    self inflating matt question

I'm very tempted by the exped downmats/symats - probably going for the synmat. They seem to be all about warmth and comfort (at the expense of a extra weight over thermarest types mats). Surely going for the 3/4 length defeats the point a bit :)

    Snow Chains

Bah! Wish I'd ordered some of those autosocks last week - snowed in this morning. Just helped to push a couple of cars that got stuck, wheels spinning everywhere.

There is no snow in the city, just ice everywhere, it's awful. The moors (edge of the pennines) have a pretty thick blanket of snow though. The deep snow filled bit was a little gully - I always manage go the wrong way up there (even when there's no snow!) - I sprang through it like bambi.

A walk on Sunday on the Pennine moors

The weather on Sunday was too nice to stay in. Headed over towards Blackstone Edge near Rochdale. There was a lot more snow on the roads than I was expecting so I decided on a little bimble around Hollingworth Lake. Causey stone track (shame about the pylon - but they're little hard to avoid...

Event (not Goretex) jackets - anyone got one?

Well, I've succumbed to tempation and purchased a Rab Vidda (on offer at Cotswolds). A bit selling point was the colour option 'earth' - why oh why oh why oh why is all the women's outdoor kit pink or turquoise at the moment?

Event (not Goretex) jackets - anyone got one?

Anyone got one? Any comments? Apparently they need washing regularly to keep the fabric working properly.
