Today I went on my first lockdown micro adventure (which are replacing a proper adventure, which is a bit fiddly at the moment).
Put my kayak on the car and drove it on the motorway (a first for me) to the Thames in east Reading.
I paddled, ate a little picnic, saw loads of birds, and chatted...

Have only done a bit on it, and we got on ok. I am not knocking it, just he moans about the brakes, and the weight, especially when I kick his bottom on a climb. I think his tum weighs more than the bike though.
I agree, my other half got a planet x with cable discs. It is pretty spongy compared to hydraulic.
Having said thay, they were easy to set-up and it stops way better than rim brakes though, especially in the wet. And he has great clearance in the wheel arch.
This just popped up on bike radar. It has all the comfort fittings you wouldn't normally want on a road bike and takes some pretty wide tyres. Surprisingly affordable too. Cable routing is shocking though...
I was thinking gravel bike or maybe cuclecross, they all come with a 32. Canyon and Rose have some good value bikes. Be sure to get one with mud gaurd fixings, that is so not standard.
Can't believe you think cute army guy is dumb, he is not. He is a hero. And, you only need an ASVAB of 36 to be in the airforce. An ASVAB of 50 roughly correlates to an IQ of 100 (i.e nothing special).

Don't lose faith Chris, there are good Americans out there. I was speaking to one on Thursday (he was cute and used to be in the army). Brighy as a button and had a world view that is entirely reasonable.
