    wanted 19kg gas bottle

If anyone wants a constant supply of free gas bottles - come to the River Severn! There are hundreds of them floating up and down with the tide and of course all over the strand line. You would also be doing boaters a favour by removing them ;)

    Weird Bee

There are about 250-300 species of bee in the UK many of which like to live down holes. Here are a couple of sites that show some of them: http://www.insectpix.net/solitary_bees_gallery.htm http://www.bumblebeeconservation.org.uk/bumblebees_id.htm

Cool, thanks for clarifying Scoman. That's really interesting... and I guess we'll see how it goes... :) I do hope it all gets working well and quick right from the start though, as at the end of the day its not the money that will be on anyone's consciences, its people's lives.

    Going it alone

I like being on my own when out and about doing stuff - walking, foraging, exploring, tracking etc. But then at the end/beginning of the day, by the fire or whatever, I like to have company. That combination doesn't usually work well - you can't drag someone around just for the company later...

    The dreaded midge

I like the smell of that 'nordic summer' stuff (anyone else come across it?), which appears by looking and smelling, to be boiled down wood tar. Probably full of carcinogens and lovely noxious things :) and I'm not sure it even works cos midges seem to have gone off me anyway for some reason...

    Strange snail/ slug slime anyone?

I took this picture a few years ago and have written to several wildlife trusts, the natural history museum, some random mollusc societies etc and none of them have actually written back, let alone shed any light on this... maybe they think I'm having them on, but I honestly am not! I've waited...
