Any luck with this Tony? Still not viewing sometimes for me, especially if not logged in. Sorry, I don't mean to nag, it doesn't seem like a big thing, but it sort of feels like something I'd like sorted as - well - with that particular post I had high hopes that someone might be able to...
Woohoo!! Way to go with the fire lighting!! :1244:
That stump is interesting - I have one just like it in my garden. I thought it must be ants or something doing it, but never actually see anything wriggling. Its not woodpeckers (at least with mine) as I'd definitely see that... I wondered if...
lab72: Lol :) Perhaps I should have phrased that differently!
crazydave: Both suggestions sound good to me! I don't think I've ever even visited Cranham. Slimbridge is 19th June and would need to get tickets fairly well in advance. http://www.slimbeerfest.co.uk/

.....................@.. tumble weed ;)
I consulted with my geeky IT sister (cyclingrelf) who says it has to be a problem with the website that end and you probably already know about it. Still, it'd be nice to have some sort of response?
I love that first one - if I tried that with my drill it'd take my hand off! The piston one I've seen before.... it does seem like the two options in the UK are either wet or flimsy, though I guess the piston idea could be played with using more sturdy materials.
The one granddad had was...
Really? What did they call it? Now I'm thinking about it, I think the logs it produced were really very dense, so you needed to get quite a hot fire going to start with... and possibly add a coal or two now and then. But knowing my grandad he probably rolled them very tight. lol. And slow...
My grandad used to have one that didn't use any water - you rolled the newspaper round and round a spindle to make 'logs', by turning a handle and feeding the sheets in. Not seen one like it anywhere since, but it worked a treat! The logs were dense enough that they burned for quite a while and...
