Tiny bit of a rant - GRRRRRR!!!

Well... the only thing is, I don't think that's strictly true that everyone gets paid when its charitable. I asked one girl and she said 'no she is a volunteer and as a new venture no one is getting paid yet'. It was a green website, can't remember who, but the article she was writing was sound...

Tiny bit of a rant - GRRRRRR!!!

Thanks Cobweb, I'll have a look at that site. I haven't been selling my pics up until now anyway as my camera is not good enough, although some people have asked for them so its been in my mind as something I'd like to get good (and rich) enough to do in the future. But the fact I haven't been...

Is this good for making Amadou?

I think I know what you mean - I've experienced something like that before playing with corn flour that had got wet... if you held a lump and let if flow through your fingers it would flow like a liquid, but if you threw it on the ground it broke up into pieces like a solid, very weird :) ...

Is this good for making Amadou?

Thanks Jd! ...is that just a case of slicing/ flaking it up and drying it - or is there more to it than that?

    my First woodstove

Ah! Crafty!! goodjob.... I could do with that kind of set up on my flue on the (narrow) boat. I've never taken it off, but I can see that when I need to, its going to be a pig.

Tiny bit of a rant - GRRRRRR!!!

Cobweb, Out of interest - how have you found out when your pictures are stolen as I would have no clue. I had one stolen once and found it completely by accident, I could have easily not have found it. Also, when you've sent your 'legalese' letter - what kind of result does it have? How many...

    Wanted childs lifejacket

This website has a nice table to show what sort of activities etc require different levels of buoyancy aid/ life jacket. It is for adults. http://www.crewsaver.co.uk/Crewsaver_Leisure_Products/CE_Categories_Explained/index.html I would ring Cosalts or someone like that and ask for advice -...

    Wanted childs lifejacket

Just foam? Then it sounds like it is a buoyancy aid rather than a life jacket that you are after. Wish I'd known sooner - I have one that might be ok for your 11year old and I'm in Cornwall at the moment, but the jacket is in Gloucestershire! Strictly speaking, you SHOULD change even a buoyancy...

    my First woodstove

Very nice! Does look like it'll last a few centuries anyway! How does your ash pan work? And what are the doobries hooking round the flue for?

    Gloucestershire thread follow up

Lol - I'm not sure we can all do that? ....and is it worth it for only one drink? :p

Gallery pictures showing in threads only intermittently

Oh ok - that's interesting. Something to do with permissions then? I did have a problem when I first arrived with not being allowed to log in - actually I didn't resolve that until I talked to Ed at the moot last year. Could it be related? - the server thinks I might lead people astray! :)...

cast Iron Fry Pan Ikea - £6.99

It does look really nice! Perfect size and shape - for camping like the British Empire :) hehe. I just restored an old cast iron kettle so looked up how to season it on the net - lots of sites saying similar things - smear with any fat which is hard at room temp (inside and out), and heat for a...

What is the thinking behind allowing folding knives but not locking knives in a public place?
