    Small fixed blade_new project

I would make the forward section of the handle wider in order to make them more comfortable for heavier push-cuts. Also, the grind could be dropped a bit.

    What an evil looking thing...

That looks seriously well done. So - you could use pewter to get a 100% tight fitting bolster, I presume? Building a shell for the bolster around a blade and using this method has been on my mind for some time. How hard is the cooled down material? -Emile

Vibram Five Fingers shoes - long term review

I switched to minimal/barefoot running style about 7 months ago and use these interchangably with Nike free 3.0 shoes. After initial adaptation (those calves!) they are stellar for that. After about 7 km, I get a slight irritation with my right outer toe, but I guess that's due to an inner glue...

So who's got an iPad then and what do you think?

As nice as it may look and feel - it's primarily a device for consuming content, not producing. THerefore, comparing it to a netbook or regular computer is a bit moot. If I were looking for a consuming device, I would not buy it, since I don't like the vendor lock-in. It's curated computing and...

    woodlore campcraft 18th july

Have fun! Any decent professional would pay gladly 4 times as that for a 1-2 day workshop in his of her professional field. I can't understand the bickering on the price either. -Emile

Cold Case - Who Killed "Cock Robin"? Graphic Image

A decent predator would not have left such a fine meal as the entire neck/head. -> bored killer -> cat. It looks as if Big Bird of Sesame Street has been run over by a car.

Much better indeed. Now the order in the Universe is restored. That instructor Woodlore has even a Jedi-sort-of-Halo-glowing-thing going on. :)

A Joonas Kallioniemi Puukko, a simple Mora or SBT, depending on the mood - so I'll vote scandi. If the SBT would not have such a great handle and be such a joy to use, it would be dropped from the selection. Woodlores and other fulltangs are nice, but for me only for collecting. I'm always...
