    Oh dear!

Cracking story and what an adventure for a young lad. Couldn’t imagine many children doing that now, and there would be no way I would allow my lad to do that. Maybe I should allow a little more freedom.

    Oh dear!

I would have been rather disgruntled if you hadn’t got the job after that.

    Oh dear!

Good skills, I was planning on doing a geocache with my scout group using my GPS, however ended using mobile phones as I can’t find my GPS anywhere.

    Oh dear!

Not that I’m one for pinching ideas from social media, but I’ve just read a question posed and wondered if people had any stories themselves. The question is have you ever had to use your survival skills in a proper “oh dear” moment? This could be that you’ve lost your lighter and had to find...

    Modified camping chair

Well I wasn’t expecting to duck for cover with a few ideas. The speaker and charger where just ideas to get people thinking. Anyway, having some insulation is a good idea, I always find if I do have a chair, it’s facing the fire and your back gets cold, so some form of insulated back and bum...

    Modified camping chair

I’ve just read a post on a social media site, instabook or something like that, a question was posed as to anyone who has modded a standard camping chair. So my question is, have you even modded one, of so do you have photos, and if you haven’t, what add ons would you use. I’m thinking solar...

    Question concerning Carinthia sleeping bags.

I have a carinthia defence 4, and recommend it, I use it in summer, zip open and winter zip closed. I’ve been warm at -20°c (32°f) up a mountain with socks, undies and a thin micro fleece jumper. It is waterproof ish, so doesn’t breath very well though. Packs down to a ball, about 10-12 inches...

    DD tarp

I’ll give that a try, I have the peg bag that came with it, it’s the same material, so would that be ok?

    DD tarp

Whilst laying in my hammock at a recent scout camp, I noticed a rip in my DD 3x3 tarp. The rip is about 1.5 inch long and has the usual L shape. Can anyone recommend the best method to fix it? I can’t afford to replace it, and want more than a quick put me on fix.

    Legal advise please.. help!

I can see that this is a very frustrating time for you, and can only empathise with you, however I read some of the posts and worry about what advice people give. Self defence being one of them, he came up your drive with a knife out, your advice was to use deadly force... I would highly...

    Rats

My dad had rats on the farm, and he used the bags, looked like blue corn, and no longer has rats. So that stuff worked, not sure what it was called, but I can ask. That will have been from the farm shop. You could have a lot of fun making traps though and seeing what works best.

What equipment should I buy? Tarp & Bivvy?

I think a lot comes down to what you want to do. If your looking to stealth camp, you might just want a simple bivvi bag, and a bin bag to put your pack in over night. I have a few options, depending on what I’m doing, and they items have been built up over the years. Bivvi bag with a sleep...

Regrets - The things you gave away or sold but wish you hadn't

I remember selling my Airarms TX200, can’t remember for how much, I suppose I don’t need it now anyway, it’s been replaced by a shotgun which only comes out once in a blue moon. I do however miss my Suzuki SV650, it was a lovely bike, but I sold it to pay for the Landy, so I can’t moan too much.
