    Sycamore Goblets

Goblets by Alan Muddypaws, on Flickr Goblets2 by Alan Muddypaws, on Flickr I was lucky enough to get some decent sycamore logs recently, so I have been doing a little bit of turning on my pole lathe. Rather than my usual spoons and spurtles, I thought I would have a go at some rustic goblets...

    The Wolf Ferro rod

Wow! Top quality craftsmanship there. That is also one of the biggest ferro rods I have ever seen!

    My first Kuksa....

Good job! Chunky but pleasing shape, holds tea - what's not to like? Interesting and informative blog post by the way. I thought the shape reminded me of a Swedish plastic Kuksa, and this was confirmed in the article.

    Woodland patio set

Great job! Those chunky benches look like they could take the weight of a small elephant, or perhaps, more likely, several fat people.

    English Country Life YouTube channel

Just a quick heads up - British Red, who hasn't been active on here for a while, has started a new YouTube channel, with his wife, on various aspects of homesteading, chicken keeping and so on. I thought it might be of interest to some of you. The channel name is English Country Life, and...

Trying out this carving lark :)

Very impressive results! Lovely sheen on those, doesn't matter that you used abrasives.

    Cherry Cooking Spoons

In this case the wood came from some neglected woodland. My dad got involved with a conservation project, and the cherry was running rampant in one corner of the wood. I believe it was sucker growth from an ornamental cherry in a neighbouring plot, which of course reverts to native wild cherry...

    Cherry Cooking Spoons

I haven't made anything wooden or bushcrafty for ages, so I thought I would rectify this, by setting up my pole lathe, and making some cooking spoons. I had a couple of small diameter Cherry logs at the back of the garage, which had been there for possibly fifteen years, and were therefore well...

Cherry eating spoon and Alder coffee scoop

Great spoons! Lovely sheen on the cherry one.

    Sycamore Cooker

Very professional looking job! Hidden inclusions can be really annoying - they always seem to be just where you don't want them.

Bent carving knife blades from band saw steel

Those look rather good! What is the thickness of the stock? I would have thought bandsaw stock would be a bit thin.
