I've often wondered whether there are any law enforcers who would measure the combined lengths of all the cutting edges on a SAK saw. If there are, then a lot of SAK carriers could fall foul of the law.

I've put new scales on a Huntsman before, but this is the first that I have completely taken apart.

After a brief dalliance with Spydercos I have gone back to SAKs for my daily carry. I rotate between Huntsman, Camper, Alox Pioneer and Alox Farmer. Occasionally I will carry a Spyderco Squeak or a Svord mini Peasant. I have other UK legal carry knives, but they hardly get any pocket time...

Update - After spending quite a lot of time with extra oil and wiggling the awl backwards and forwards I had no joy in easing the problem, and the awl remains unopenable with my nails. I contacted Victorinox about this, and they referred me to Burton McCall, the UK distributor and service...

I don't think it's peened too tightly - once it is out it moves freely enough. It's just the initial resistance of the backspring means I can't get it out of the slot without bending back my thumbnail.
