    Trip Report First time hot'tenting

The Rock Fortress can be had for £250. The stoves are from around £100. The Winnerwell I went for set me back £299. Not cheap but hopefully a good investment for the future. If the worst happened, there's always a good market for them second hand.

    Trip Report First time hot'tenting

I bought a bag of logs from our local shop. Just softwood though. We also took a few logs of Ash from our garden. Also bought a bag of those compressed fire logs to use during the night. They seem to burn well for about 2 hours. The flue was fairly clean when I packed away. Just a bit of soot at...

    Trip Report First time hot'tenting

Thought you might find this interesting. My wife had shown an interest in hot tenting and as we adopted a rescue foxhound 5 months ago, i thought it may be a good direction to try. We already have camping , tarps , and hammock experience, but a hot tent is a new venture. My first purchase was a...

    Close Encounter

30 odd years ago I used to be a keen fisherman. For the start of the new fishing season I decided to get an early start so caught the coach out to Bewdley the day before the new season started. I walked about 2 miles and found a nice spot and set up to wait for the dawn. It was a cold night for...

Yep, it's a funnel web. My brothers retired now, but he was a zoologist. He worked for various zoo's and sanctuaries in Oz as well as a period at Chester zoo. I don't think I would be keen to have a funnel web spider on the back of my hand!

First of all, i did'nt take this photo. It was taken by my brother. I know what it is, but i wondered how many other folk on here would know. Not that difficult, but get guessing :D

    Tent Stoves

Glad to hear your happy with it. Out of interest, what are you using as a groundsheet. Is it just a tarp and what's that under your center pole?

    Tent Stoves

Funny you should ask this, ... I have just ordered a Winnerwell nomad in medium today. Did a fair bit of research and this one seemed to fit the bill. Managed to get it for £299. Still quite expensive but the best price I could find...
