    Looking for my dream watch....

Luckily I got my dream watch as a pressie. Tissot T-touch titanium. Compass, Altimeter, Barometer, Alarm, thermometer, waterproof to 30m. Best (and longest lasting) outdoor watch I've ever owned. Not cheap.

Planning a winter trip to Norway what do I need ,, Hmmmmm

For Norway, I love my Dachstein Mitts for active general use in snow and ice, with buffalo mitts as a back up set when drying the Dachsteins. Also use a pair of Black Diamond Mercury Mitts as a big pull on pair when resting/inactive. Ridgerest mattresses are a pain to use in snow. The ridges...

    Bergans v Helsport

I would have thought they could be separated for drying and can't see why the outer only could be used. May be worth dropping Tony at Tamarack an Email/phonecall.

    Bergans v Helsport

If I was buying a Lavvu with this criteria I would probably get the Helsport Finnmark. It's initially expensive as you buy the outer/inner together and it has a 'sewn-in-groundsheet'. My other half has always been a bit nervous about bug protection (despite my reassurance that all insects go...

    Bergans v Helsport

I have the Helsport Varanger 4-6 with a stove, inner (not used it with much) and floor. The floor can be separated by velcro tabs and rolled back out of harms way.

    Down sleeping bag advice

Depends how much you feel the cold when asleep. With the bags you've listed I would melt using them March to October. For that season range i use either my PHD minim 300 or Rab Summit 300 (depending on tent or bivi) and a Rab Summit 600 for winter. There is down and then there's down when it...

    Out and about

Might head up to the Lakes with my new jerven bag. :) Low temps and light rain should give it a good test.

    Canvas Berghaus Crusader

Some early Roc's and crusaders were made in canvas (mine is) but switched to cordura. The Roc is 70 litres.. It was supplied without side pockets, which could be added to the side straps (adding a further 10L each.) The Crusader is 100 litres and was made with zip off side pockets as standard...

    Looking for thin stainless sheet

I have the Helsport stove and it is very good! Be careful not to bank it up too much in a small tent as it can really kick out the heat. I destroyed a self inflating mattress when the heat effected the internal coating and it stopped being airtight. A pair of work gloves are handy to store in...

+1 on the Webtex bowl for personal admin. For trips with a limited water supply there are military strength baby wipes. http://www.rvops.co.uk/sage-rinse-free-deodorant-body-wash-wipes-1927.html
