Bacho Laplander, should i purchase one?

I've got one and it's very good compared to the other saws I've had. The blades are tough and I've never heard of anyone breaking one, unlike my Wilkinson Sword folding saw which bent permanently while I was cutting through a small branch. Bahco do very good saws in general. The hacksaws...

Will there be one of these at the Bushmoot?

This thread made me think... There's a guy who lives in the woods at the regular Kent meet-up and he keeps a little tin bath down by the river. Every now and then you'll be walking through the woods and you'll stumble across him running back and forth to the stream with a bucket, filling it...

    Croc Dundee knife

Yes! If only to get a glimpse of the knife he pulled in retaliation ;) That's cracking work Bernie, and it obviously performs well too :D Nice one.

    BCUK jacket

I think alot of us have been thinking that for quite some time :D

    Bushmoot 2008

Yeah, pretty much what dommyracer said. As long as you check in when you arrive, and peruse the rule sheet they now hand out, then you're pretty much free to do as you please. There is usually a quite obvious 'checking in' point near to the communal area/toilets/shop where Shelly will greet...

    The Offspring

I might give that a go, I've heard a few singles and quite liked them so why not  Still listening to 'Rise and Fall, Rage and Grace' by the way. This is the best thing they've done for years. I even prefer it to 'Smash'. Well worth buying.

Where have all the men gone

I was going to say something similar but decided not to. But seeing it's been mentioned... It is very difficult for an adult male to get volunteer work with kids. His motives are always questioned and if a woman of the same qualifications and availability applies for the same position then...

Where have all the men gone

I'd love to get involved with youth work and have looked into it in the past. Unfortunately my job prevents me from doing so as I'm required to be on call, off and on, 24 hours a day. The last thing these kids need is another unreliable male role model in their lives. :(

    How old BCUK?

They won't change it, they're very stubborn.

I am complete and utter fool.....

I think we've all done something similar at some point. :o If you're using sharps then accidents will happen eventually. I don't know anyone who uses knives all the time and has never cut themselves, especially when first learning. The best thing is to be prepared and carry a good first...

    The Offspring

'Fix You' is hypnotic. It seems to go on forever. An increbible, and dare I say it - beautiful song.

    The Offspring

From the new album? Erm... The new single 'Hammerhead' is an obvious starter. Or 'Half-truism' or 'Kristy, are you doing ok?'. Any of those are good. To be honest the whole album is very good, I can't really pick out individual songs. It's one of those albums that has to be...

    The Offspring

I'm not sure too many of you will be interested here but I just wanted to say this: I received my copy of 'Rise and Fall, Rage and Grace', the new Offspring album today and I'm listening to it now. Woah  If you're even slightly interested in this band then you must get this...

    Are we weird?

I'm not weird and I don't know anyone who goes wild camping or practises bushcraft that could be described as 'weird' either. Weird would be eating your own face because everything else tastes of paint. And I've not met a single person in the woods who was doing that.

    Reading Bushcraft Group???

I thought 'Bushmoot' was the term used to refer to the official Bcuk gatherings  People have been calling their meet-ups 'moots' for years. Are we seriously not allowed to use the word 'moot' anymore?

like a ... duck to water?

Whoah.... That chick has freakishly large feet :lmao: Seriously, it looks like it's been photoshopped, with a grown chickens feet cut 'n' pasted onto a little chick. If I were that chick, I'd have a complex. :o

    Alone on Earth.

Actually, you know what I'd do? I'd kill myself. If I killed myself I would have killed the last human being alive and in doing so I would be solely responsible for the extinction of an entire species. My mum would be proud

    Alone on Earth.

Philosophically speaking, being a person centres on my personality, my ethics, morals and existance being defined by my interaction with other people. If there are no other people then I would cease to be a 'person' - just a human being. So technically the last 'person' on earth would be...

    bushcraft knife/ blade on ebay

I think you could get a much better blade from SWC (they do full kits for a good price) or from Shing (he's a member over on British Blades). British Blades have some very good tutorials etc for putting a handle on a knife too so it'd be well worth your while poking around in there for a few...
