should have added i use acetone to clean up epoxy over spill
for de greasing components befor epoxying i use acetone on handle material followed by petroleum distillate
on the steel i use petroleum distillate
its also important to give the surfaces a good key
with epoxies cleanliness, preparation and temperature is key,
all surfaces must be clean, free from dust, grease, oil and once clean kept clean
the epoxy needs to be mixed well.
temperature needs to be warm for it to mix, flow and cure correctly.
you need to leave it at least 16 hours past its...

almost finished these two 3.5" bladed bushcrafters in 3mm o1, just waiting for the sheaths to dry out after wet forming so can wax them. ones in oak and the other im not sure but has beautiful striping!
thanks, its o1 tool steel which works well with a scandi given a 25 degree bevel, when properly heat treated gives good edge integrity and edge retention push cutting on hard abrasives like wood which is what its designed to do.
Not quite finished as sheath needs wet forming/finishing and havnt posted for a while as been busy working on commissions
First one of 2019! thought id try something different for the handle, green jute micarta over yellow g10 liners

thanks, yes it does. its the first time iv had a go at this style of knife, the changes to contours are subtle but you feel it making a difference.
its not a direct copy of an AW i made the profile in the handle underside less aggressive and also the handle is a little bit longer
thanks, i made a few adjustments to the contouring of the wooden handled one today will likely make a few adjustments to the micarta one as well. i have a couple more to do as well so want to make sure they're right
