    WHAT DID YOU MAKE TODAY?

I can hear someone saying 'volume piece'. ;) I look forward to your trilobite door stops.

    EcoFlow DELTA 3 Classic

Sort of. However, its main use is to cover the unexpected which we can only make an educated guess at. I have asked what other people do with their battery banks but don't get many replies, do many people really suffer regular power cuts lasting over a day? I've based our need on the assumption...

    Open question - Financial

I'm currently trying to sort this out for my mum. She's currently in hospital and they tried to send her down the fully private route without checking her financial situation. She may well qualify for state aid of some sort which could then be topped up by private money I think. Private care...

    Open question - Financial

I'm starting to look at this from the other way around. I'm getting to the age where I can gain access to my private pension savings. With the current uncertainty around the tax free lump sum and seeing how ill my mother is getting late in life I'm starting to wonder if I should cash some of my...

    EcoFlow DELTA 3 Classic

The plan would be to just run the router when needed. We've started to have a few more unexpected power cuts, i.e. not when it's been stormy. At some point they may start to catch up on the maintenance in the area which which will mean more short notice cuts. Although we're flexible when it...

    EcoFlow DELTA 3 Classic

I've been looking at the various power stations again but trying to get something to cover our essential needs rather than an expensive setup that may not get used fully. As we work from home it will only need to power a router (possibly Starlink), charge a laptop and charge mobile phones...

    4000?

I'm disappointed the post wasn't a heads up on a new historical fantasy film about Spartans.

Pump Drill and Bear comes clean

I thought he meant one of those hand cranked drills. I've picked a few over the years and some are fairly small and light.

    Precision .22LR

These days it's getting more about proving usage than cabinet space. Something ranges can help with.

2nd hand cabinets are quite cheap! ;)

    Precision .22LR

Yes, just curious really. I mostly target shoot but in the back of my mind I like to think about live quarry shooting, so don't tend to shoot my .22s much beyond 50m. They also also don't seem to be that fussy although I know many others struggle.

    Show us your larder cupboard

Ours is a bit scruffy to post pics, but it's a proper larder and a decent size. One problem is it can get a bit damp, ok for some things but others, such as tins, are not suited as they can go a bit rusty after a year or two.

    Potentially a bargain ?

Nothing, but the offer is appreciated. For the price of a 2nd class letter I'm happy to send out a few packages at my expense. If you send me an address I'll send some on. I'll not be able to do so for a few weeks so there's no rush. Same for anyone else who wants some, I'll go through the...

    Precision .22LR

What ammo are they using and what's the drop at 150m, must be one or two feet? We're running PRS comps at our club now, only out to 50m but the targets are tiny for those of us with aging eyesight.

Licensing for Knife Sellers or Importers

I think he has, well I could understand from his first post. I would say the forums not politics rule would also stop further explanation. I can either agree or disagree, or more likely agree with some of what's said. I think more police who are actually on the streets would help, the powers...

    Growing edible cover for Pheasants

Why's that then? I did a quick search on edible cover crops and a few came up that seemed useful, or at least gave a list of plants to consider. I've often thought of doing something similar here, maybe not a full game cover mix but something for the wild birds as well as us. Down here they...

    Bug out coffee

I've just had a flashback to the vending machines in the office I used to work at. The plain hot water often tasted more mushroomy than the mushroom soup.... I was also going to say get a small tea strainer to get bugs out of your bush coffee. (On a constructive note I'd 2nd the coffee bags if...

    Plug & Play Solar

I wouldn't say I have a large social circle but I know two people who've had solar installed profesionally and had serious house fires. One had batteries installed which burnt the whole house down and one a bad wiring job that burnt a garage down.

    Potentially a bargain ?

Well, the needles arrived today (thanks again Toddy). Approx 8,000 of the blighters and a nice mix of sizes, from 7 (3.5cm), 4, 3 to 1 (5 cm). They seem clean and sharp. I went for them as I needed some and a few packets of 10 seem to cost the same. When I get time I'll package a few bundles...

    What did you buy today?

If you look at the bottom of the specs here: https://ledlenser.co.uk/products/h8r-rechargeable-head-torch it says 18650 and links to a spare battery.
