    Lavvu mods

Any haberdashers, sewing shops or on line. There are also a couple of U tube videos on how to do it.

    Lavvu mods

Use an a frame outside the tent...makes load more space. Bungy loops on the bottom peg out rings. More space again and lifts the tent off the ground.... Zip doors, but BUTTON the zip cloth to the buttons on the tent. All no/minimal sewing mods............. and don't add weight/bulk.

    Shelter for the hills

Way better than the Nevis is the Starav............. Roomier, sturdier, better ventilated, better porch............ A cross between a bivvy and a tent would be the Snugpak Ionosphere, great at wind and weather shedding, small, sturdy and light: whilst roomy for what it is, accomodation will be...

    Polycotton Tarps ?

ERBS>>"TenCate is surely the best known maker of cotton tent fabrics in Europe, by the way." TENCATE are major manufacturers of quality POLY cotton cloths too, made for many of the Dutch Storm/Pyramid tent makers. A cheaper polycotton tarp is/was available from Spreen Outdoor, a German...

Bushbox XL or Boundless Voyage Titanium Stove?

I ended up with one .......a good size, 400gms, can use with a trangia, doesn't distort. Very well pleased. It might take 30 secs to put together as not hinged??? My go to , now. Ooooh, and its about 1/2 the price of most........knew there was something!;)

    Hooped Bivi Bags....thoughts!

A bit late in the day, but it's not Sil nylon, it's a ripstop polyester...and yes I have had condensation in it. I now use an Ionosphere, although still have the Stratosphere.

    Hooped Bivi Bags....thoughts!

Depends on your bag, and the weather? Hooped bivis do allow that more so than the bag type in inclement weather. But you'll still get condensation!! Best result on the "bivi" idea I've had......is the Snugpak Ionosphere..... more a bivi/tent?

    Hooped Bivi Bags....thoughts!

It's not often I would take exception to something Erbswurst says ;), but the last sentence above I do! Horses for courses? I prefer a hooped bivi, yes you can get horrible condensation in it, as you most certainly will with a plain bivi, certainly if it's raining in the latter!!!

    Snugpak Ionosphere...bivvy or tent?

QUOTE: o , firstly, there's 16....yes 16 pegs, including what Snugpak refer to as 2 spares. Why? Some manufacturers have the gall not to supply even the basic need for their tents! Are they crap? Seem good standard S/pak cross shaped pegs, and yet....if you use ALL the peg out points......you...

    Hooped Bivi Bags....thoughts!

If anyone is still considering a hooped bivi, they may also wish to consider the Snugpak Ionosphere or the Jack Wolfskin Gossamer 1.

    Snugpak Ionosphere...bivvy or tent?

I see the practicality of using tarps with bivvies, have done so myself....but it seems to go against the grain if you are trying to keep as small/light/discreet as possible.......which is why I'd use the Ionosphere in the first place? Otherwise I'd use one of my tents?

    Bell Tent

    One man tent suggestions?

Snugpak Ionosphere? Bigger? Vango Starav? Both can be had within budget...... (I have both, and am mightily pleased with both?)

    Bell Tent

I have a bell tent from Blacks of Greenock. Excellent, a cut above. Reviews here and on UK Campsite. Also a "Woody Girl" above says, Karma above are also excellent. My experience dealing with Soulpad, was at best, indifferent.

    Snugpak Ionosphere...bivvy or tent?

The Snugpak Ionosphere...unboxing. Is the Ionoshere a 1 man tent...or a bivvi? I think of it as a glorified bivvi................... Love the Stratosphere, but can't get on with the condensation......so in a similar vein, (light, small, discreet and hopefully effective?) and at a remarkable...
