Yes, possibly and that's a thought that crossed my mind too as well as affecting the air flow. The slots are 10 mm so not too big to let largish coals fall through but large enough to let ash out if you give it a wiggle, at least that's the plan. I saw a few online that didn't have any way of...
I had some time to myself on Monday so decided to make myself a rocket stove. I don't really have a purpose for it but had some 4 inch box section that was left over from another project and it's been getting in my way so after seeing them online I thought I'd get the tools out.
After settling...
I restored one of my fathers split cane rods quite a few years ago. I removed the eyes and used a cabinet scraper to remove the old coating. I didn't want to sand it as that may have rounded the angles slightly. I then re whipped the eyes and varnished it with a flexible varnish and fitted an...
When we go to shows I tent to take my old kit just in case. Never had a problem to be honest and just keep things out of sight. Last year we went to the Bushcraft show and took our niece so although we slept under tarps I also took my polish lavvu which was great as the girls could change in...
We grow various different types of tomatoes in ours as well as chillies, peppers, spring onions and various herbs. We tent to over plant by 50-100% so there's plenty of seedlings to give away to friends and family
Some wax is darker, the very yellow wax comes from the cappings and brace comb and is known as virgin wax. Also if wax is over heated it can go dark too.
Hi Harold, no I still haven't got one yet. I was very close to buying one at the bushcraft show but someone beat me to it. Is there something in my original post that you fancy trading with?
Ah that's fair enough, I just though I'd share some info I had from the state of the courier system at the mo. Hopefully everyone get's their items. I'm still waiting for stuff to be received/delivered myself from Christmas.
It may not be the sellers fault. I have a close friend who works for DPD and they're over run at the moment. They depot is full of crates of parcels, some having been sent at the beginning of the month. It's apparently caused by the royal mail strikes, christmas and people taking leave for...
Hi all, I'm after a few .303 shell casings for a project I'm making for a friend who's taking his DCS1 if anyone knows of any going spare? I've got a few things to trade like 550 paracord, beeswax or a smallish zipped wax canvas bag that my wife has made.
Thanks
Ben
I was also trying to remember another book you might like based on your other thread. I can't find it on my bookshelf so I may have lent it out but it's about a farmer who lives on foraged/hunted food for a year. Maybe someone else will know what it's called?
Have a look at "The last English poachers" by Bob and Brian Tovey. That's quite a good read. They lived in the same village as us, I've heard of quite a few of their antics from local farmers and game keepers. No doubt they probably also poached on the farm where we lived.
Also Johnny Kingdoms...
