What chainsaw and what training do you have?

Of course, accidents happen. I won’t claim to know the ins and outs of what he did and yes possibly complacency may have been part of it. But I’m sure he would still agree that his training was worth the money.

What chainsaw and what training do you have?

I’m sure that’s the case, I was teasing you a little bit but I know of folk who have learned from people who profess themselves to be experts and are really not. They’ve just been lucky for 30 years! I’ve not really used anything corded but I can see the benefit if you can do all of your...

What chainsaw and what training do you have?

I have had a few chainsaws over the years and used to spend winters as a tree surgeon/forester depending what was about in between summer outdoor work. When I did my chainsaw felling and cross cut course I had a husqvarna 136 which was their cheapest home owner model. It really kept up but with...

What do you want to have on Bushcraft UK?

I would like to see some more of the physical “stuff” again. The old BCUK patches and an annual calendar etc would be nice to have again. :-)

    Animal Tracks

Sorry I’m muddling my sentences up, I meant mine marten would be too small for the tracks. Not the tracks too small. Doh! Whilst there’s no established numbers the data is increasing for confirmed sightings. They are prone to escaping so hopefully it’s just the odd one here and there though.

    Animal Tracks

I agree. Not the usual toes of either otter or badger. The phalanges are too extended and splayed for our natives, with the very definitive deep claws too. Too small to be a pine marten so my best guess would be a raccoon, I believe their numbers are growing in the uk albeit at a slow rate. They...

    Animal Tracks

I would be interested to inspect some of the hair that is on the ground next to the track to see what information that would give.

    Spiritual connection to nature

As some of you know, I am a follower of Christ. I often don’t partake in “religious debate” here as in the past I’ve been ridiculed and belittled because of my faith. So I will just ignore any comments other than what Chris is referring to. We are all aware of the Ten Commandments set before...

    Bushcraft films

The mountain men (1980) is an absolutely fantastic tale! Very similar to Jeremiah Johnson but a bit less aggressive. I always remember watching The river wild whenever I went to my aunts as well.
