    Recommend me.....a solar battery charger

The solar garden lights, nor my van leisure battery will charge on overcast days. The older and cheaper panels need actual sol. But I’ve heard of panels that will, so hopefully Red or someone will be along to help out. I’d love to replace the 200W on the van.

Lanterns: Can anyone recommend an LED rechargeable lantern?

Same, works fine. The address reads as www.sofirnlight.com I have had an issue with Convoy where my iPhone was fine to open the site from a link, but the iPad iOS constantly returned a Server Cannot be Found message.

    Pocket Dump

Not sure I replied to this. In short, it’s brilliant. A fairly thick case, so it flops about on a traditional NATO, but no matter with single pass or springbar straps. Thoroughly reliable, and despite being a chunk, sits very nicely on the wrist. Just changing to get some planting done and it’s...

    Withdrawn Swisstool Spirit pliers Multitool

I'm going to live with it for a bit, keeping it closer to hand than in a cubby hole in the campervan. It rides almost unnoticed on a belt, and a lot lighter and less bulky than the Bibury Surge clone I bought to take over MT duties. I'll be back up to Suffolk some time in the next few...

    Forgotten Snacks

No longer can we "look for the little blue bag". It now looks like someone lost a plaster. I've chewed one by mistake.

    Forgotten Snacks

Smiths Savoury Vinegar flavour crisps. A weekly treat from the vending machine at the swimming pool.

    Is this fatwood?

No matter which bit of the tree it is, if it's loaded with resin to the point it looks glassy, it's fatwood. Best stuff I ever got was from knocking out branch pegs of an old pine with the back of an axe. A shaving of it took easily from a spark and produced a mass of black smoke like burning...

    Sold Maxpedition Jumbo Versipack

Bag hangs on left hip with Nalgene pouch forward. Mind you, I just tried it to check and it seems ok either way. Apologies if you’re interested mate, I’m just in to mark it as SPF.

Just a few miles down the road, in Hampshire, they do the same.

    Going green broke my fridge!

I've just decanted a big pot of coleslaw, a jar of olives and same of sun-dried tomatoes into a 3 tier tiffin. Very light stainless steel pots that fit on a shelf or in the door. It won't keep food airtight like a jar though I think there must be sealed ones available...

    Going green broke my fridge!

No way anything leaves the West Sussex tips, once it's there it's there. Mate of mine who's handy with a multimeter and soldering iron spotted a really nice, immaculate Samsung flat screen and tried to buy it. Not a chance, even £20 in the back pocket and back the car up to stash it in quick...

EDC Banter and Trade UK and Knives and Gear UK. There's a fair bit of crossover on the knives.

What wildlife did you spot today?

We're developing a food based understanding :) To be honest they've seemed ok since the start, I don't get any aggressive vibe off them as long as Mimi stays behind me, which she does. Pretty much anything is worth a peck, even palm flat feeding and they want my hand, sleeves, knee etc. :D

What wildlife did you spot today?

Been giving these two a dew oats each day. Day one involved a great deal of hissing and bluster from Mr Swan, coming out of the water wings out. But day 3 today, they're ignoring the dog, and both coming out to eat out of my hand, and try to pull my fingers off.:D
