    Anyone got a Tarphat?

My first one came apart pretty quick but they sent a replacement. Other than the odd threads and seams coming apart and the velco on the back disintegrating it's still my filthy old hat! :) Bought as my other basebal cap from 5.11? fell apart inside and was full of sharp fish bone type...

Making a Mushroom Knife: for a BCUK Member!

You've clearly never traded with HillBill aka Mark Hill lol. About 5 years waiting for my knife blade.. Just drawing up some longer blades that match what Sunndog wants, gona check it with a few others and send some pictures later when I have time. Then it's wait for the weather and cut some...

It kinda hits you hard and fast, dunnit?

Lol it's a strange urge that drags us lumps out of our chairs seeking strange muddy adventures. But it's cool that you've seen the light! Welcome aboard chapette! Even seasoned professionals like me, hardened by the fiercest of badger battle sightings, battered by the harshest of mild rain...

    forged full tang

AH! that'll be why it doesn't look all toothy and half arsed like some makers put out. Max respect for hand finishing the edge, so so few people do that! Most just jog it across a 400 grit then buff..

    forged full tang

It's gonna look great. ;) What belt grade/grit do you finish the grind on? That edge looks almost hand finished..!

Making a Mushroom Knife: for a BCUK Member!

Cheers boys! If it's dry tomorrow I'll make a few more longer and straighter blades from the same steel. In all honesty I forgot what the old one looked like lol. I knew it has a curve but mind wiped the rest. Now I've re-seen my own pictures I'll do a paper trace of my computer screen and have...

Making a Mushroom Knife: for a BCUK Member!

Yo, Short story made as quick as possible. I made a mushroom knife a while back for someone I knew and alot of people liked it. I thought it was cool and didn't really make it to any particular specifications and just forged out a file and used recycled parts for the rest. Anyway...

    Para-Claw

Cool bit of gimmicky fun but deffiantely a disguised weapon type deal. Thus prohibited, just like a knife buckle for a belt. (which oddly enoung the first time I was frisked by the police was something they checked for?! I didn't even know belt buckle knvies existed when I was that age lol)

    Logging saw restoration.

Yeah I knew they are two man saws, no extra handles though.. shame really! The handles on the larger true two man saws are wood worm motels lol. Long since evicted though and nothing I can fix. I do however really want the steel from the biggest saw. I'll never use it and it has little...

    Logging saw restoration.

That means that saw has-been used for years! Is it worth grinding the curf wells back in to normal depth..? Or just sharpen and set. I've talked my brother with the job of setting and sharpening the ones I clean up. He has a particular 'personality' that's suited to those sorts of monotonous...

    Logging saw restoration.

Thanks for clearing that up, I was curious aswell. Am I right in assume the kerf wells in the centre of the saw are more shallow because it's been used alot, or are they like that by design?

    Logging saw restoration.

    Logging saw restoration.

I've been away from the tools for some time, due to health. But.. I'm finally edging back into the game and today was a great start for me! Anyway, enough about me. A big old bundle of tools was sent my way a while back and in it were 5 loggings saws in large to xxxl 2 man size lol. All rusty...

    Problem with kuksa

Usually they are pressure treated like fence panels and not made of porous burl, just beech. Or so I'm told. But then again I'm not a professional utensil or receptacle maker..
