I was a chef for over 20 years, and in the kitchen, we always used to par-boil potatoes. It makes sure you don't get crunchy bits of spud. In the winter I sometimes use the water I have boiled them in to make hot chocolate as it is very "carb-rich".

Thank you for the comments. The kitchen box is much admired (and copied to I think). The plain green smock isn't one I made - you can get them from Endicotts in Exeter (£25 I think - and brilliant for work).

There will be more videos to follow, most things have been done before, so we are looking for things we do slightly differently.
Here is an idea for a simple , but very tasty dish that can be made in the woods, and the ingredients are simple things that you can carry in your pack (mixed with some locally foraged items).
