The dutch M90 is pretty warm but i find it very bulky.

I wear a merino baselayer, if needed a wool sweater, and a wool jacket. A wool jacket will take some rain with no problem but when raining hard for a long time i will just wear a 100% waterproof jacket with a lot of zippers. So no goretex or any other overpriced "technical" gear.

I mainly use a GB outdoor. It's large enough for most tasks i do in camp. If you want to fell larger trees you should look for another bigger axe.

A Mora can do fine but as it is mass-produced will be more of a disposable tool for most people, whereas a custom knife will be something that you'd expect to enjoy using and owning for a very long time. If you think of it that way, that "expensive" custom knife is more that just another tool...
