    HEXAMINE. PLEASE READ!

Whilst Hexi has its place, I think it’s safe to say very few people use it as a primary fuel as there are cleaner more convenient fuels out there. Someone has clearly decided its use as an explosive precursor outweighs its use as a cooking fuel. I’m curious about the ban though, Amazon and...

    HEXAMINE. PLEASE READ!

I suspect you’d need to justify EACH item you’d want so likely to be a licence each. Further more, if there is an alternative availible the licence would be refused and you won’t get a refund! Edit- seems to be one licence with categories then.

    Children’s torch recommendations please

I got these in the end. £7 on a Black Friday deal. Nice clicky switch and bright enough for what we need. Plastic could be a touch thicker but for the money seem excellent. Batteries are isolated with a peel off sticker. I’ll probably get another pack for the cars

Someone has been done for carry Zombie knives.

You have to be suspected of committing an offence before you can be arrested. You would be given a chance to explain to the police why you have the knife before begin charged (sent to court). The police can either accept your account or not, in which case you get the chance to tell a judge why...

Someone has been done for carry Zombie knives.

It is a strange concept. In essence possession of the item is an offence, it’s just that you feel you have a lawful reason. You would likely be asked at the point of discovery why you have it. If the officer doesn’t feel you have a good reason you could be arrested and interviewed where you...

Someone has been done for carry Zombie knives.

It is probably worth remembering that for the offence of carrying an offensive weapon the burden of proof lies with the person carrying it that you have a good reason. Police only have to show that you had it. Saying nothing if you were challenged may not assist you in this instance

Someone has been done for carry Zombie knives.

Whilst we could debate the officers reasonable grounds, legal powers and how bored they were all night it’s fair to say they got it right didn’t they? Two people with Fixed blades, faces covered and seemingly up to no good. If they were out for a hike I’m sure they will bring it up at court.

Someone has been done for carry Zombie knives.

Indeed, Possession of a knife. Would have been the same charge if they were carrying Mora’s without good reason.

Folklore and local ghost stories from your area.

For me, I’d need to see it myself. I have had two experiences that shook me and I cannot logically explain. I find the paranormal very interesting, but I do find that the majority of people who are believers spend their entire time trying to convince others that the truth is out there etc...

    Irrational attachment to inanimate objects

I genuinely hate losing things, often irrational little things that don’t matter in the greater scheme of things but they are mine and I want them. Seems it’s been passed down to the children too, I’ve spent many a bedtime looking for a certain hot wheels car or toy.

What are the worst-case-scenario hiking situations?

Size of the kit is probably going to be a factor here. You can turn an entire daysack into a worst case scenario kit but would he carry it? Would a smaller kit - but one that can be put in a pocket and forgotten about be better?

    All weather coating…

Thanks all. The body of the device is plastic with the coating applied. I’ll try some IPA and some rubbing, if that fails I’ll break out the nitromoors and some cotton buds

    All weather coating…

It’s a relatively thin coating, I’ll try some WD40. I’ve tried scraping it off but it seems to reawaken the substance to be even more potent

That’s a good idea, thank you

    All weather coating…

Morning all, I’ve got an older night vision scope that is covered with that rubberised coating manufacturers seem obsessed with. It’s now decaying and is pretty sticky and unpleasant to handle. Any ideas how to remove it? Have anyone had any luck with getting it off before? Thanks

    Children’s torch recommendations please

They look to be what I’m looking for. He could handle a multi function torch for sure, but my sanity cannot handle constant strobe

    Children’s torch recommendations please

Afternoon all, I have a 2 year old and a 5 year old who are both into the outdoors. Recently we’ve been exploring the garden at night (as in I’m locking up the shed etc) Currently the boys use my torches but for Christmas I’d like to buy them their own. I am therefore looking for...

What’s on your keyring (and do you use it?)

I have a house key, tritium keyring and a leatherman micra. The micra I use a lot and I would replace it instantly if I lost it

Petition seeks to have serial numbers on all knives sold

So every household in the uk would have a number of knives attributed to it? Would take a massive database to hold and maintain all that information. Cars are serial numbered and have registration plates on show but people still use cars to commit crime. Can’t see this one getting off the...

A great loss to the british countryside

Heard one in April/May on Hankley Common, Surrey. It’s an area of low horse and heather. Couldn’t spot it but was clear as a bell
