    Norway fishing

Should do the trick. Bring some flies to, like March Browns, Zulu Silvers and Red Tags. A rig with a flater in the end and 2-3 flies with 10-15 cm between them along the line is very effective on grayling and trout in the rivers.

    Birch tar/oil possible fuel ?

And how would you extract the oil? Asking it to leave the tree in a non-energy-consuming manner? As far as i know the most common way to extract birch oil in larger quantities is by steam destilation. But no matter which method you use it will demand the use of energy. The part of the plant that...

    Sub Zero Work Boots?

H i Hamish. Didn't see this post before now. What size are you? I do have a pair of almost unused (extreme) winter working boots laying around. I never use them, so if you are in the area you can have them for free. I think they are a size 44/45. With loose inner liner.

    Norwegian Army Overboots: sizing.

Well, I think pacboots and its like is for sitting still, either on a chair waiting for the spring to arrive, or on a snowmobile. When out in det woods or mountains in winter time I normally wear skiboots, or my Lundhags boots with proper wool socks.

    Scary log splitter...

Pretty common device 50 years ago. They were build and sold in a variety of designs and drive-options, but most commonly driven from the PTO on a tractor.

    Norwegian Army Overboots: sizing.

What he said. But remember that they are designed to fit outside the M77 Norwegian Army boots https://www.forsvarsbrukt.no/p-964-feltstvel-m77-ubrukt.aspx. They are pretty slim, and I would think a pair of size 9 valenki are a bit mor bulky and volumious than a size 9 Norwegian Army boots....

Driving to the Arctic Circle - advice required from our Scandinavian friends!

New(ish) M+S tires are good for driving back and forth to the grocery store. But they are close to useless on ice and hard packed snow, and they don't steer well in 15 cm of new snow either. I used to have M+S tires on my Pajero. Good enough for gravel and dirt, but not good winter tires at all...

Driving to the Arctic Circle - advice required from our Scandinavian friends!

As you are probably aware of, the main roads and most of the smaller roads in Norway are salted in absurdum. As long as the temperatures are between 0 an -15'C you have to expect to drive in salt slurry. They use salt in Sweden to, but not the absurde amounts as in Norway (300000 tonnes last...

    Good bye for now.

This will be my last post on this forum for a while. I spend way to much time on the internet, and follow way to many forums. I need to re-organize a bit, and cut down on the amount of forums, and use my time on real projects. BCUK is one of the forums I've decided to cut out for various...
