    Merino wool

I personally don't think there is much difference apart from the fact that wool power icebreaker etc can be worn next to the skin, they have been designed to feel more like silk than wool, but then their spinning processes are very hi-tech in order to achieve this silk like feel and this is...

Bison Bushcraft Boot or any other thin-soled walking boots.

I have a feeling that the final soles will make them heavier, as the soles they have at the moment are made of foam, thing is though, there is absolutely no extra leather on these shoes anywhere as they fit my feet exactly, the leather is not the thickest stuff available, but I hope up to the...

    barefoot boots/shoes

I've been wearing 5fingers for the past four years and depending on the shape of your feet, they can fit like a dream from the word go or rub like hell for a couple of weeks until they stretch to your foot shape, I was somewhere in between. The first time you put them on can take twenty minutes...

666g for size 7.5 uk, that is with the temporary soles on, but considering the finished ones will be of a light tyre tread variety I cannot imagine the weight will go that much higher. I will let you know the finished weight when they are done. They don't feel like they weigh anything at all...

Bison Bushcraft Boot or any other thin-soled walking boots.

I got my greenshoes.co.uk hiking boots through the post today for a fitting, they came with a temporary sole so that I can try them on round the house and see how they fit, then I am gonna send them back with any comments for them to reshape the uppers before they put the permanent sole on. I...

    Mushroom books !!!

Hi Paulm, sorry, I just cannot make out any of the titles although I am viewing on ipad, so that maybe the reason, photos on photo bucket lose resolution when they are enlarged. Is the bottom left a Collins field guide and does it say '1751 colour illustrations' at the bottom of the cover?

    Removing pine resin

I just wanted to report that I removed pine tar from my tent after the moot using a warm iron over some kitchen paper until the majority of the resin was off the fabric and absorbed by the paper and then wiped the rest away with a cotton wool pad dipped in ethanol. It left no trace of resin...

    Mushroom books !!!

Do you have the title and authors of them pls, I just want to check them out on amazon. Which in your opinion is the best one to take with you into the field? Most easy to slip into a pocket or small bag? Cheers.

    50Cal Ammo Box

I could really have done with one of these at the moot, a squirrel nibbled through the zip of a suitcase I was keeping my food in, the suitcase is completely ruined now. Squirrel managed to gnaw through lid of a peanut butter jar and drag it half way across the camp. Sheeeesh.....

    Hi all

Hi Martin, what a great thing to be able to get to the moot for a night, but unfortunately you came on the wrong night, you missed the Kum By Ya concert, bad luck. Enjoy the forum.
