    Bioluminescent fungi

For those with a scientific bent, National Geographic have produced a video about a study being performed in Brazil as to why fungi bioluminesce. http://video.nationalgeographic.com/video/magazine/150213-ngm-glowing-mushrooms?source=relatedvideo At the moment, noone knows whether the glow has a...

Incidentally, I went back in daylight and photographed the stick that had drawn my attention whilst answering the call of nature during the night:

    Bioluminescent fungi

I've been out camping for the past 6 days and noticed this where my husband had pulled up an old rotted stump: Apparently, there are more than 75 species of known bioluminescent fungi, but I'd never seen one before so was delighted with my find :)...

I echo all the other thank yous, but in addition a special thank you to all those that helped me look after my baby. Mushroom identification assistance?

Welcome to the forum Rehbein. I can't help much with the fungus, but I think yellow staining is a bad sign for edibility. Sent from my SM-A300FU using Tapatalk

-3.7degC at 5.30 this morning. It's perishing cold.

I don't mind warm and wet (Cornwall) or cold and dry. But cold and wet has been pretty miserable the past few weeks. What a pleasure today to have thick frost and sunshine. We went for a 10 mile hike round and about, taking in the Mugdock park cafe enroute :) Sent from my C5303 using Tapatalk

    Down DIY

Time I updated this, but it turned into a lot of failed effort for me! I did learn a few things. I went for making a light double quilt with foot pockets. Similar to the down blankets thermarest make to go with their mattresses. I designed internal baffles, based on concentric rings with...
