Our trip to Finland has just been trashed by Finnair cutting their timetable by 20% so there may be a bunch of us joining you to distract ourselves from our disappointment. We're discussing it tonight.

    Wayland's Snow Shed

Doesn't come across as aggressive at all and it is something that I do give thought to. My intention is to bring it back but I pack so close to the flight weight allowance that is not always possible. Airport waste bins are full of things that get dumped for the same reason. Losing an...

    The Norse Saga Cloak

Time for another update. Debs thinks this may actually be completed this year.

    Isn't the weather weird ?

The jet stream seems to be flowing at a slightly lower latitude than it used to. I don't know why but I have my suspicions it is something to do with global warming as it has been similar for a few years recently. That puts us nearer the edge of the Polar Vortex in an unstable belt alternating...

Wanted Busharts book by Mors Kochanski

I wonder who that could be… The moose biscuit is a basket woven mat or pot trivet if I recall correctly.

Quite possibly not. Mine wasn’t cheap when I bought it ten years back. If a dealer on Amazon realises they have something rare they rack the price up and hope for the best. Tell you what, you can have mine for £500 if you like.

    Wayland's Snow Shed

There are similarities but this is quite different. The pictures are difficult to interpret because of the camouflage unfortunately. Already more headroom as it is but there will be a lot more when I cut a footwell in the snow.

    Wayland's Snow Shed

I was looking to add something to a post I was sure I had started somewhere only to discover that I don't seem to have posted about this here. This came about from an idea I had on the first winter trip I made to the Arctic. For some time now I have been using a square cotton tarp, set up...

I have a copy but it's firmly chained to my library I'm afraid.

    Kaweco travel pen

Did you use a speciality ink in it? ie. waterproof or etching? If so you may need the manufacturers own solvent. Otherwise there are good suggestions already made here. I sometimes find that forcing water / solvent through with a cartridge converter can help too.

Modern tech leading to dumber thoughts?

Perhaps because most wise things have been said so many times before.
