Planning Tips For Wild Camping Scotland? (Post-lockdown of course)

If you’ll be by the coast the breeze will negate the midges somewhat. Ticks are always around. Just take the usual precautions and check yourself everyday. Beach camping is an option. The north west coast has the Gulf Stream warming it. Weather is variable in one day but certainly not much...

Are the Lakes open from Wednesday or not?

We saw exactly that up here with the north coast 500. Highland council in their infinite wisdom closed many public toilets on the route. The visitors just started to use the back of the toilet blocks as a latrine. No burying of solids. Some of them were really bad!

What about these? Very similar to Fjallraven. I’m liking the Fixar trousers. https://www.garphyttan.eu/12-pants

    Tactical or traditional?

I’ve several Tasmania Tiger rucksacks and they’re bomb proof. Mine are really well made, hard wearing and well finished etc. The V2 back system is very comfortable and adjustable also, particularly for me as I have a bad back.

    Good fjallraven 'trouser' alternatives

@demographic totally agree about Snickers wear. I saw a huge decline in quality. We’ve gone over to Englebert Straus workwear and it’s better priced and far more robust. Really comfy too.

    Mechanix Gloves for hot work

I have a pair of mechanix gloves, not sure of the model (label says original covert?). They were about £25. By far the worst gloves I’ve ever purchased. They are a synthetic leather material. The palm got a nick in week one - can’t recall ho, I super glued it together. The stitching between the...

    Home made dried eggs anyone?

Brilliant video. Thanks. I was really inspired. We‘re presently sitting on about 40 eggs so we froze 2 dozen. Such an inspiring YouTube. After watching your video about food drying we are now looking to buy one too. Thank you.

    New into bushcraft.

Welcome. I'm further up north but there should be places to go on the shores of Loch Lomond or around around Loch Tay?

    wip bushcraft knife

Lovely. If the sheath is suggestive of how the knife might look, I'm envious! Beautiful.

recommend me a starter all in one knife

If your looking for a starter knife maybe go into Grahams in Inverness and look at what they have for sale If memory serves me ok, they usually have a reasonable selection of knives to look at. Not your specialist, custom made stuff, but something to get you started.
