Not if you spend a fair bit of the year en France.

    Peugeot P4

Thanks, some good pointers there. Been too long since I shed my Lightweight and I fancy something a bit different for showing, but not so different that it becomes a garage queen while I'm searching globally for parts.

    Peugeot P4

Anyone got one? Basically a French built and Peugeot engined G-Wagen. Thinking of one for vehicle shows and country fun & games.

    Fire side snifters

Calvados. We go to Normandy every year for the landing commemorations and the landlord of the little place we stay supplies me with a flask of his "family" stuff. It evaporates on the tongue.

Hi any old soldiers about? "Shellscrape" question

https://stephentaylorhistorian.com/2020/02/15/more-ww2-manuals-downloadable-the-more-unusual-type-of-manuals/ Has a 1941 PAM covering defensive works. Which might give you some pointers. Edit - It's also just occurred to me that if you can lay hands on an IPK, 'kippex' in the vernacular...

    That's perfect, thank you.

    Sgean dubh?

Have sgean dubh been outlawed by any recent legislation? I can't find any traditional examples with 'live' blades.

    Nostalgic Fray Bentos Pie

Ah yes, the crispy noodles came with the sweet & sour. So not only did you need two saucepans of simmering water (sauce and rice) but also a frying pan... And this was "convenience" food? :D

    Nostalgic Fray Bentos Pie

Tinned sausages... Another of my nostalgic vices. I remember the hamwiches too, guaranteed first degree burns to the mouth from molten "cheese".

    Nostalgic Fray Bentos Pie

Mrs will buy me a Vesta curry on occasion, one of the cheapie places has them. No they're not great, but they do the nostalgia thing better than Fray Bentos, mainly because they still taste just as bad as I remember them! Take a bit too long simmering to make good 'out' food though.

    Nostalgic Fray Bentos Pie

Recently binged the whole lot of The Professionals, it's amazing how many episodes would be three minutes long if mobile phones had been around!

    Nostalgic Fray Bentos Pie

You can certainly do the puddings in boiling water, not sure quite how the pies would fair. FWIW - As well as the nostalgic rose tinted glasses noted above, the pies have also changed considerably, and not for the better.

    Morocco

Mrs, who I'm sure won't mind me revealing is neither young, nor especially fond of showing skin will never set foot there again despite absolutely loving much of the country and culture. I also suffer from my mother having been in Marrakech in 2011 when the souk bombing happened. If I were...

Which bushcraft/outdoor/survival/camping/hiking Youtube channels do you subscribe to?

I like Cimber and Fan Dabidozi something about the way they both contrast traditional and modern techniques & equipment.

    FlexiStove

I've had one for ages and have yet to use it. At least partially because it lacks away so conveniently that I invariably come across something else to cook on first!

Tilley x246b vs Tilley Guardsman vs classic Vapalux

I've more than two dozen lamps, all models and marques and my beater, the one I most use, is a 246B. It was relatively cheap, it lights things up and if it breaks or gets stolen I won't lose something I can't replace. Now, that said, I've heard collectors call them Friday afternoon lamps...

    Cleaning a Norgie

Eventually got it more or less completely clean, then was presented with another by my Mum's new neighbour. It's still got the stores labels on it.
