thanks, it is too small for my hands yes, it goes through the tang. cant say i noticed any difference when grinding or peening. i did worry it may de laminate after heating and beating but had no problems

yes, had to soften it first though, heated the tip of the tang till red and cooled in vermiculite a couple times

needs a few more coats of danish oil yet but here it is so far

sanded/polished and lightly etched the blade before giving it a light buff then spent the afternoon working on the bolster!
