My reason for being on Bushcraft - my late husband's extensive knife collection - my position

Depending on where in Herts, I might be a bit far. I’m in Bucks - I go between Aylesbury and High Wycombe. I’m happy to advise where I can, even if it’s a second opinion sense check. Realistically I’m not buying many (any?) knives these days as I’m trying to put funds to other projects so I’m...

Are you hanging it upside down?

    Plastic free camping

Thing is if you’re going away from plastics for environmental reasons, cotton isn’t really an environmentally friendly product.

    Bending a Mora carving knife.

I don’t really want to answer your question other than to buy a different knife! :D Do you have a link to Barns video where he does this. I’m surprised that it’s what he has suggested. You already have a view on how to do it though from Barn. He knows enough to know other ways and if he has...

    Worth a punt

That’s interesting! It looks like it could be a good carver when the pocket clip is removed. Shame it’s a bit over 3” but a grinder can sort that! I’m tempted!

    Adding lanyard tube to Mora

If it’s solid plastic does it even need lining?

    What did you buy today?

I think it’s just a dig at the other recent thread about an axe handle.

Help- I don’t love my bolts.

    If they’re rivets, I wouldn’t….. A bit of tippy-tappy instead.

Help- I don’t love my bolts.

Are you sure those are loveless bolts? My bet is cutlers rivets. Do you have a close up shot of the heads on both sides?

    guy line tensioners

Line loks would work for cord both ends, unless I’m misunderstanding your need.

    Legality and Perception of EDC's

What sort of important events would those be?

    Legality and Perception of EDC's

Yeah, I get it. I operate cctv system at work (64 cameras) and home (4 cameras) but like I said after, I just perceive the term surveillance as people actively watching the cameras.

    Legality and Perception of EDC's

I suppose I think of it being actively monitored cctv as video surveillance, not just having cameras. Yes, we have lots of cameras.

    Legality and Perception of EDC's

Video surveillance isn’t a big thing over here.

    Legality and Perception of EDC's

The thing is, this is mostly about the UK, not the USA. We do it different here, even if we don’t all like it.

The back side of a knife.

One under, one over - it’s slightly angled off square. For me, as it’s held normally, the left side is the higher (right handed) so when the knife is flipped the pushing edge of the back is ‘sharp’. Mainly used for ferro rod scraping. Only about an inch of the tip as the rest doesn’t need to be...

    Stew's Works in Progress!

After fitting my new garage door last weekend, I had chance to do some sorting and have come across some(!) knives. I doubt I’ll be back at any real making any time soon but there a few I might consider working on. This one is quite a significant knife for me. The blade was the first...

The back side of a knife.

I find it good to go slightly under 90 degrees - I don’t have a definite angle that I measure to but less than a square corner!
