You might be surprised how far into the colder season you'll be able to take it with the extra layer :) I also sleep warm and always carry mine for that reason. Sometimes the liner is all that is needed and I might just have the sleeping bag fully open to use as a blanket for when the temp dips...
Potentially, I could be. However, Mrs Onelifeoverland is due to give birth on the 17th so that could scupper that plan for me [emoji4]

If using a jungle bag you'll do well to buy a fleece liner too. Pretty cheap items but worth its weight in gold inside a jungle bag and I dare say gives you a 2/3 seasons warmth. Also makes the setup quite versatile.
I'm speaking from experience BTW because that's exactly what I use.

Amazing how far a single sheet of leather can go. Tonight I used the last of it and made a far better sheath than the standard one the Hultafors arrived with which doesn't actually stay on!
Well pleased with this.

How well does the top quilt pack up? And what design is it, I'm not familiar with those particular ones and they all seem to offer something different. I'd be quite interested in that.
Hi all,
Looking at lightweight tent options. The two I have in mind are the DD Superlight XL Pyramid Tent and the Lanshan 2. I'm leaning more towards the DD purely because I don't want to carry a second pole and it requires 2 for setup. I'm specifically looking at the XL version of the DD...
Hey all,
Cross-posting this (also in SoP).
The river Rhymney is on my doorstep but I know nothing about it. I did just find this:

Which is the section I would be interested in and I think Grade 2 in my Inflatable canoe is plenty for...
I've seen that there is such a thing now as the Brecon Water Trail too which looks quite cool. Essentially it's a circular. From the wharf head down the canal to Brynich aquaduct then Portage the short distance to the Usk and head back up to the wharf along the river.

At risk of sounding nosey. How often are you bumping into ill prepared hikers that need feeding? I'm only intrigued as I spent many years in a Search and Rescue team at a fairly senior level so am well used to having to deal with poorly prepared walkers but never did I have to feed any, other...
Also, does anyone know if the waterways licence I'd get by joining canoe wales covers the boat or the person i.e. if there are two of us in a single canoe on a canal do we both need a licence?
For what its worth that Limitless Equipment one I ordered is pish! I've no doubt @reflexmedical will do a far better job.
To start with they sent me the case without any kit. Then they sent me the kit in a plastic bag after complaining and expected me to put it all together myself.
All in...
So I ended up with the Sevylor Ottawa - more as a result of an apparent lack of UK stock than anything else. UK distributors (Coleman) have said there'll be no more stock this season - seems it's a very popular boat!
Anyway, now to research where I can and can't paddle and where is good for a...
