I know why they are described like this but it is still not an accurate description. Just because it is common practice does not make it correct and the fact it is so common to prefix every piece of army surplus kit with "SAS" means your advert does not stand out anyway.

I did not see this post until after I had put in an order for the Laplander. But many do seem happy with the Laplander and for the occasional use I will give it I did not want to spend more than £20. if I find I do use it often I may upgrade later but we will have to see how things go
nice idea and maybe a good future project but im guessing I am looking for something ready to use

I have some Tritium kit markers and the are great for pinpointing a particular piece of kit. glow in the dark would be a backward step.
I used a phone charger that had a blue led that gave out just enough ambient light to be able to see most of my kit in my immediate area without been obtrusive...
I have used a few GTLS firefly kit markers in the past. they can be a great help locating a torch when you awake in the darkness and were a fantastic help on Army exercises were using a torch was not an option

I gave the pouches a grey coat and then used a net as a paint mask and sprayed the whole thing black. I then used a small hole net bag as a mask together with some a4 paper shapes...
well the typhon pattern side pouches seem to be out of stock everywhere but here is my pack with my army issue side pouches attached. The are 100% compatible if anyone had any doubts
very true but knowing a good knot for a particular application does make life easier. you can improvise and just use any old knot but you often find you need to cut it out to get in undone wasting cord.

I have one of these and it has proved very useful for small jobs but it has become very blunt.
with no skill and not much more in the way of sharpening tools how can I get a sharp edge again or should I just replace it. If so what should I replace it with
