Thanks everyone, searching through the details on Muck Boots website I have discovered that my MuckMasters are rated to -30, so with a pair of decent socks they should be plenty warm enough. I really appreciate everyone taking the time to reply and offer their advice on boots that are...

I had something similar from my dad, with zips on the front, and felt liners but I never got to use them as the zips were corroded. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Buffalo Special 6 - astonished

I’m a 42 chest and wear that size which is snug. I haven’t noticed any wind getting through the zips BUT I tend to wear mine when walking the dog in winter when I also have the salopettes on so am double lined around that area. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Petrol and Diesel Shortages

I’ve had no issues here in Dewsbury, visited the same Asda Fuel station 3 times, on one day they had limited the fuel to £30, but yesterday it was back to £99. But driving to Bradford drive past several Petrol stations with no queries and then cam across one where they were queueing on the...

Branded Waterproof jackets - Worth the money?

I had a Berghaus Gortex Mera Peak for the best part of 25 years, it recently reached the end of it’s life, and the cost to replace the zips and bungee cords was over £100 so I looked cheaper alternatives settling on a Lightweight Trespass, the waterproof zip isn’t and I got a wet line down the...

Uk knives from the 1980’s onwards, how thing change

I must have been a trend setter then as I had a Mora Scout and Opinel, bought from the local sport shop. A lot of scouts had a plastic handled mini Bowie thing that if you hit handle first when playing splits was likely to shatter. Had the Mora stolen whilst I was a Junior Leader at...

Anybody had experience teaching boy scouts bowdrill?

Looks like the change happened earlier than I thought: The Boy Scouts Association and its programmes in Britain went largely unchanged until it underwent a major review in the 1960s. The Chief Scouts' Advance Party was formed in 1964 and was sent to survey the association to see why membership...

Anybody had experience teaching boy scouts bowdrill?

It’s great that you want to offer your skills to youth organisations, be prepared to be asked to complete a DBS and to become a leader or Section Assistant. Minor point in the UK the “Boy” has been dropped and they are Scouts. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Winter hammock setup

When I bought my Hennessy I bought the bubble mat too, the last time I was out in sub zero I combined that with my DD under quilt and Army Arctic bag and was toasty warm, down side was there was a lot of condensation, so I may have struggled on a second night with a damp bag. Sent from my...
