Interesting comments, though I have to say I have not been convinced that anything is better than the M65. Has anyone had a pair of canadian army trousers, the old olive ones that are sort of a cross between M65 and combat 95 trousets? I like the look of them (I've got a thing for big buttons)...
If you want something cheap that works well get down to mountain warehouse they have a variety. In their cycle section the do one that's smooth on the outside and fleece on the inside (lightweight). I've got a few of them, perfect base layer as it doesn't catch on what're you put over the top...
They don't they have a brass zip (been the first thing to go on every pair I've ever had). Bdu's have a button fly, which I don't like either
Surprised no one has mentioned acu's. I like them but they are a bit narrow at the ankle for my taste and those pockets are huge.
Interesting, a lot of votes for 5.11 TDU's. I haven't owned a pair. The thing that puts me off is that all said and done they just look like a suped up pair of bdu's and I regard bdu trousers as a step backwards. I don't like the narrower leg and the straight cut and I don't like the fact you...
I'm curious, I've been wearing m65 combat trousers for about 20 years (not actually the same pair mind you). I think they are the best trousers ever invented. There are one or two drawbacks, probably one would be that when soaked they don't dry all that quickly, the other... No it's slipped my...
There is an old smock in olive green called a "cadet smock" made out of something similar to ventile but they are very difficult to get hold of. Someone on here was selling them a while back can't remember the fellah's name he might still have some, someone will know who it was. Great smock
Nanok comfort down -10, british army jungle/summer bag. Use the Nanok most of the time. If its hot i just use the army bag, if it drops a few degrees below zero combine the two, been fine in -9 sleeping out. I have a british army arctic bag too but hardly use it due to size/weight.
I have an ENO singlenest and its fantastic. Packs down to nothing. If you get the eno atlas straps as well you have a great lightweight hammock that you can put up in literally 1 minute. The down side is they are only available from the US (unless you catch one on eBay) so can be pricey. Eagle...
Hi I have a Gerber Harsey Hunter knife with hardcover tactical sheath for swap. Knife is in excellent condition.
Would like a Victorinox pioneer, or Farmer. Or maybe a US army poncho liner, or just make me an offer.
Cheers
I'd say that was a commercial product. Imitation desert MARPT. But that's not necessarily a bad thing, I have a flecktarn poncho off eBay and its never let me down. You can always reproof them. I find the 58 just too heavy with no real benefits. Dutch dpm ones very good too.
I have the same karrimor sf as ed the 60/100. Highly recommend it. Very tough, very comfortable, plenty of space, you can attach side pouches and all sorts of other things. It is a little on the heavy side but that's the price you pay for having something indestructible.
Does anyone know anything about the "Sleeping Bag, Arctic, Mk2" sleeping bag made by CQC Ltd?? They look like they date from he 1970s/80s. It looks larger and more substantial that the 58pat bag. If anyone knows anything about them I'd appreciate the info. Are they warmer/ heavier/lighter...
Hi I think you can get all of Nanok's bags at www.genuinearmysurplus.com check them out if you are still interested. The one a mentioned (comfort down -10) is a very good all round bag, but not cheap. Good luck
Hi mate. In my opinion if you want a simple relatively cheap bag that will meet all your requirements then the british army arctic bag (synthetic full length central zip) is very good. It is however also very heavy and very warm. If you want something a bit more refined and adaptable I can...
Sorry should have said, not after gaiters or jumper any more. Would like MTP Smock Mk1 size 180/104 , or other stuff I've mentioned or make an offer. Cheers
