    Hammock warmth

Jacks R Better sent me one of their pods by accident a few years ago, I tried it out but didn't like being enclosed like that, it took away the appeal of a hammock not having a view. I think if you're in deep cold like -25*c and beyond then it would be useful having a pod along, but for UK...

simple grill to balance on rocks/logs

The Rolls Royce of camping grills is a titanium Purcell Trench grill, spendy though and that's without shipping from the US plus tax etc. I've always fancied one but couldn't justify the spend, I ended up getting one of these from Bob at BPL a couple of years ago, I think mine was a second in...

    CCF mat and or UQ

I use quilts all through the year, but I do have choices from summer weights right through to deep winter. Those are top quilts and underquilts so I'm not really doubling up on weight. As long as you match the quilt rating for the temperature and it's snugged up against the bottom of the...

Sealing the seam on a silicon tarp

I'd go for the best of both worlds and stick a patch on using silicone or PU. If it's a sil tarp I doubt you'll get much else to stick anyway so silicone or PU is the way to go, either McNett or something cheaper, I've heard good things about this stuff from Wilkos ...
