My local B and Q has quite a bit of sheet with various holes and varying prices. I don't think you will get stainless from them, but if they are not far away maybe worth a look at the metal stock rack.
Other Arms Bergan. Iv'e got one on the way so cant comment on condition yet.

Yes, its surprising the pools and places we used to play in years ago now have toxic warning signs and don't even let animals in. Mostly Brackish and ditches nearby now.
There are some local streams I would trust with the filter. Large rain water puddles occur around too which filter and boil...
I really hope this works and doesn't turn out to be ridiculously expensive.

Got my filter and bits a couple of days ago. All good, have watched a couple of videos on use and it looks very easy.
I guess my only question is what water can't be used though the filter? obviously salt sea water, but are there other sources to avoid In the UK?
I used to lug around an issue artic bag, it stays in my car now for possible dodgy trips. Carinthia D4 is my goto bag and snugpak Merlin with expanda panel when its warmer both with a cotton bag liner inside.
Iv'e got a 400 large and 48 chest. its a tight fit for me but not uncomfortable. unless sizing has changed in the last 5 years or so Id go for an XL. My 200 zip is XL neck and a normal fit.
If you decide to get a Military Bivvy this shop is highly recommended https://www.strikeforcesupplies.co.uk/index.php?method=stock&id=20316
Thing about wild camping is your options are endless. if you setup your basha or tarp as a optional bolt hole should it start persisting down...
I didn't see your tent option, I guess its the same thing although a little more stealthy the ionosphere.
One of the things to consider is the Bug issue. having a bugnet is bliss compared to the alternative of broken sleep and general irritation. A lot easier to do with an all in one and...
Welcome to the Forum. You may find more replies if you post in the shelter and sleeping section.
As you say a lot depends on the weather. I don't trust forecasts anymore so will pretty much always have a tarp or a poncho above me.
Budget is always a factor. 3 possibles:
1. Bivvy bag, for me...
Thanks for all the replies. Now is where to buy a squeeze? My usual shop would be amazon but there are loads of new negative reviews saying they are possibly fake and coming from Amazon US.
Nothing on tamarack or heinnie.
Yes its almost nanocord :) . I asked bez on YT what and where he gets his. its 1mm 150D waxed polyester thread. I think the hole size created by the awl is so big it needs a thick thread to be able to keep tension maybe...
Yes mate, no reflection on what you said. it is really strong, and now I think about it the thicker thread I used (most likely waxed linen after a search) was for leather work I bought years ago. would be nice to get a poly thread the same diameter for heavy cordura work.
I am totally clueless...
The thread arrived today, not what i was expecting. Its half the size of the spool and thread is half the size again compared to what I used. will be ok for something else.
I think next time i'm going to get proper specs as no one seemed to want to tell you the thread diameter and spool...
