    Banned dogs - thoughts

I would need to upgrade to post photos of my dogs here…you’ll just have to use your imagination, he’s beautiful.

    Banned dogs - thoughts

An English Bull Terrier can easily reach 38 kilos, just to point out a flaw in your logic…that is heavier than the vast majority of dogs in the UK. My deerhound is only 48 kilos and he’s probably the softest dog on the face of the planet, size isn’t really the best criteria for judging a dog’s...

What are the worst-case-scenario hiking situations?

Rather than giving him an extra large FAK which he may or may not be able to use on himself in an emergency I would suggest he carry an epirb. They’re not reliant on cell phone signal and can be used to direct emergency responders directly to him if need be. Some simply need to be registered...

    Ugly stik rod?

Mine are five piece rather than telescopic. One of them has alternative tips that give different speeds when casting. Even though it’s a quality make I would describe it as barely adequate. The good side of it is that it will fit in my inside jacket pocket.

    Ugly stik rod?

What I will say is that I have a couple of smuggler rods and they’re not really much use compared to their ordinary two or three piece counterparts.

    Banned dogs - thoughts

Every time there is an issue with a breed of dog being weaponised it is a case of breeding. It is a proven scientific fact that canines can be bred for docility or viciousness. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lyudmila_Trut When idiots start breeding dogs as weapons it only takes a few generations...

    Ugly stik rod?

If it was me I would be looking at buying a few rods on the second hand market rather than trying to find a one size fits all solution. You can pick up a really good beach caster as a starting point cheaply enough

    Anyone know this knife?

It’s a pity that bushcraft knives are being conflated with violent crime.

Petition seeks to have serial numbers on all knives sold

I searched Change.org for this particular petition but couldn’t find it, I could only get to it through the link. Registering knives would be only one of many stupid woke ideas on there that are completely impractical. Most of it is just venting frustration at some kind of perceived injustice or...

Protecting saws and other tools from rust

I find wax is better than oil in this way as well because every little bit of dust and crap in the air seems to gravitate to the oily surface and build up whereas lubricant wax isn’t sticky
