    Kindles and E Readers etc:

Good Point well made - if you don't need the on-the-go connectivity , it will prolong your battery life. ( Ahhh - the nostalgia of the longevity of the Nokia brick phone.. battery life of the Sun.. )

A Hard Decision-Sell up or rent?

My experience of letting agents is that they are only good for finding a tenant -beyond that , I've never had an amazing experience - just an experience. Some have been better , some have been terrible. I use a letting agent to manage a property in Wales but thats more because the...

A Hard Decision-Sell up or rent?

Good advice Tengu - you need to be honest about IF you property needs anything to make it rentable? is it all upto where it needs to be ? could you rent it and does the rent cover the mortgage? certain villages are lovely to live in but the rents can fall far behind the more urbanized market...

    Bulletproof vs lightweight

No offence intended in this question / answer - and maybe more one to answer internally. Would you say your own physical frame is " Built " to a bulletproof / highly durable type or more a lightweight /racing snake type frame? I tend to find its unlikely you need the benefits of the opposite...

Voluntarily handing in a large blade to the UK police

Horses with daggers pose no possible threat. The lack of an opposable thumb makes them nearly ( but never completely...) harmless.

    Espalier Trained Fruit Trees.

I may do a Fig tree - picked up a nice semi -trained espalier over the weekend - a little small but will come on. Grapes I would lover to do and have given some thought to just running it across the top of the most vertical elements to maximise it all. Do you have Grapes Broch?

    Espalier Trained Fruit Trees.

I've had a rethink on this - planted Willow and something else at the streams edge and its thriving and seems to be doing what I intended and desired - = win!!! Now thinking of moving the Espaliers to a different location. 10m ( 12m with two corner returns ) run of close board fencing facing...

    What are you preserving?

In terms of the actual jars and related apparatus for preserving ( I've seen a little gizmo that seems to sit on top of a jar with a metal top and it sucks the air and creates a vacuum before sealing the jar ) what do people favour and where from? I'd imagine there is a one stop shop that...
