    Porridge

Porridge, love it! I don't put spice in, except when I add curry powder (rarely!!), but I do put in dried fruit, usually raisins or sultanas, and a splosh of EV olive or sunflower oil. Don't forget a pinch of salt it makes all the difference.

What to do with an old 15 L aluminum pot with a lid?

Purely a guess! Bend copper tube into a "U" shape, sit over the lip of the pot, to let air into the base of the pot to feed the smouldering wood chips. Use an old oven shelf or wire to hang meat/fish/whatever in the smoke. Cover with lid. If it doesn't work out you'll still have an intact...

Arrived today a crusader heavy cover lid, a Victorinox huntsman SAK (buggered the small blade on 20+year old SAK so this is a replacement/addition) and a couple of bandannananas.

My Kendal mint cake just arrived!

This morning I had occasion to visit Milletts, needed boot laces, and while there I spent 65p on Romney's Chocolate KMC, the only type in at the time. Nice chocolate coating, 51% cocoa solids, and a very nice peppermint flavour to the filling. Good texture too! Why did I wait so long to try it? 8-(

The ULTIMATE brewkit from canteenshop.com??! (review)

My Crusader set doesn't lose it's non stick coating as I was wise enough to buy the plain stainless version. If you want black use heat resistant black paint on the outside and leave the internal surfaces bare metal. I do like the Ultimate stove though and could see that being quite...

    Lake cycling shoes size 8

Too small for me then. For everyone else they make a perfectly good hiking sandal, this might have been my fourth pair, and £30 is a bargain if they are BNIB.
