    the problem with wood

Don't the pros seal the ends to stop the wood from drying out too quickly ? I'm sure I've seen that at craft supplies in Derbyshire. You can also buy this sealer.

Landscape tour of the Highlands. ( Picture Heavy.)

Excellent photography there , I'm dead jelous of both your trip and the photos. First pic conjures up all sorts of other images in my mind , something primeval about it , if it weren't for the relatively modern cloths that could be a caveman cooking his dinner. So first pic is my favourite ...

What this all about bivi bags then ?

Thanks for the replies , it seems that I'll have to give this some serious thought . It just seems sort of odd to me to just kip in a bag straight on the floor. Are you supposed to use a camping mate to take the hardness out of the ground ? is this used in the bag if so ?

I managed to get a few hours completely to myself last friday so went for a wee walkie on Cullen beach. Here's a few pics of the walk and things I saw. This walk was also about getting at least a little back in shape thinking about the impending walkabout at Comrie very soon.

    griddle

I've used a flat steel plate as a griddle , it works but find the food sticks . I made it (obviously flat) but once the heat got to it during use it has a bow in the middle , which I personally like. I reckon you should give it a go at home first. Woks used to be made of plain steel years ago...
