    I have seen in your video in that tarp sewing thread that you use a hatchet with a long handle. Is that a good idea?
    What do you think how much more effective is this, compared with a normal length?

    It helps to give more chopping power when you have a light head. I now use a slightly shorter helve, but I am use a slightly heavier tomahawk head.

    I'm new to the BCUK forum and haven't explored much. I appreciated your post about knife sharpening/blade grind...I'm pleased to see someone else in my general age group with (apparently) very similar interests. Just sayin'.
